Karishma's POV

I know I shouldn't be here.

Every part of me is yelling at me to turn around and go home, but for some reason, I can't. Instead my feet keep moving forward until I am standing in front of a white door with the numbers 305 on it.

My hand slowly lifts up and places three gentle knocks on it.

I'm not quite sure anyone inside would actually be able to hear it but I decided to wait a few seconds before trying again.

Abhi bhi wakt h, I think. Idhar se nikal sakti ho tum. Baad mein regret karne se better h ki idhar se chale jao

Before I'm able to analyse my options any deeper I am no longer looking at the golden 305 that rested on the door.

Instead I am met with a confused pair of brown eyes.

"Karry?" Kashish asks "Tum yahan kya kar rhi ho?"

"Kyu, hum idhar nhi aa sakte?" I ask.

I noticed my voice came out deeper than usual, almost seductive. This is not something that goes unnoticed by Kashish as she flashes me her signature smirk and makes way for me to come inside her apartment.

My feet seem to have a mind of their own because no matter how loudly my brain yells at them to turn around they only continue moving forward.

"Tum kuch pine ke liye logi?" she asks heading into the kitchen.

I can't help but notice the luxury of her apartment.

Definitely not the apartment of someone with the financial struggles she claims to have.

"Agar thodi si red wine h toh woh chalega hume"

She flashes me a knowing smile as I follow her into the kitchen.

Within a few minutes we are both sipping from our wine glasses while we're seated in the stools on the island of her kitchen.

Neither one of us said anything, though I could feel her eyes on me. I knew she was wondering what I was doing there, and honestly so was I.

"Karishma," she said.

I knew whatever was going to fall from her lips next would be serious considering she didn't use the nickname she has for me.

A part of me is disappointed, since I was starting to grow fond of the name.

I don't answer verbally but my eyes find their way to hers silently allowing her to continue.

"Tum idhar kyu aayi ho?" she asks.

Hume pata ho toh na bataye hum tumko, I thought.

My shoulders drop and as I let out a slow breath.

"Hum nhi jante hum idhar kyu aaye h" I answered honestly, focusing my eyes on my lap.

She doesn't say anything, not right away. But it's clear in her facial expression that she doesn't buy it.

She sighs and rests her hand on my cheek lifting my head up so our eyes are meeting once more.

"Tum dono ki jis bhi baat pe ladai hui ho..." she begins softly "I'm sorry" she says with a forced chuckle.

"Aur shayad tum sahi bhi thi" she added.

I chuckle " Amma tumko kaise pata ki hum sahi the?"

She shrugged "Rule number 1, and this is the most important rule in a relationship, girlfriend/ wife humesha sahi hoti h, aur jitna jaldi logo ko yeh baat samajh aaye utna acha h. Life easy ho jati h aise"
