Rudra felt the nerves settle in her stomach as soon as she stepped foot in Aradhya's apartment
"You got the couch delivered, I see," she said in her attempt at making small talk.
"I did," Aradhya said "I also have wine glasses now so we don't have a drink from coffee cups on the floor"
Rudra smiled at this though she secretly found the wine-filled coffee cups incredibly charming.

Karishma walked back into the living room with two empty wine glasses and a bottle clutched in her hands.
I had found a spot on the right side of the couch, as my favorite student sat directly beside me leaving almost no space in between us.
She poured the wine and my eyes took the opportunity to admire the way her hair cascaded perfectly down her back. They noticed how she bit her lip in concentration trying not to spill the expensive liquid.
But what they seemed to focus on the most was that her V-neck t-shirt gave an almost perfect view of her-
"Hume wine ke bare mein zyada toh nhi pata," she said causing my eyes to focus back into her own brown orbs.
She must've noticed I was checking her out because she gave me a knowing smirk before speaking up again
"Par umeed karte h apko achi lage," she said handing me the glass.
"Sach bataye toh hum adhitar kuch bhi pi lete h," I said "Not necessarily a good thing though"
"Kuch bhi?" she questioned as I took a sip of the wine.
I could tell from the warmth the liquid was spreading across my chest that this wine was definitely more expensive than what we had last time, which was much sweeter.
"Kuch bhi" I confirmed.
She shook her head taking a sip of her own wine glass "I don't do well with hard liquor" she said with a shy giggle.
I smiled "I have a glass of whiskey almost every day," I say
As soon as I arrived home from work nine times out of ten my husband was sitting in his usual recliner, reading the newspaper with a glass of whiskey already poured for when I arrived.
Jay is a scotch man himself but he never fails to get the whiskey for me.
"Humne kabhi whiskey try nhi ki h" she confessed.
I smirked "Well I'm going to have to be a horrible influence and get you some one day"
She smiled "I guess I'll have to let you corrupt me"
The liquid on my glass had somehow disappeared; I don't remember drinking it all but I knew that I had because I was feeling more courageous than I did a few minutes ago and started leaning in.
Karishma's eyes widened slightly with the unexpected proximity but she quickly adapted and I noticed her relax.
"Mrs. Mallik," She said softly just before our lips touched.
"Ms. Singh?" I replied playfully
This made her smile but neither one of us moved any further.
In fact, her hand landed on my cheek bringing me even closer, making my self-control diminish even more.
"I-I..." she trailed off.
