4. This is it

The screams got louder and explosions were added to the mix of chaos, when one explosion rocked the boat the brothers were stuck on to one side Ace made the decision and started on their restrains. Sabo saw his brother work to cut through the ropes and decided to keep an eye on the pirates. These however were very busy with other things. More explosions followed and the boat was thrown to the other side again. Luffy trembled in fear but didn't say anything to his brothers, he knew right now he needed to be brave. When the ropes around them finally let go, the three brothers were nearly thrown off the boat when it rocked to one side again because of a explosion. Luffy somehow managed to shoot his arm around the mast and grabbed hold of his brothers, so they didn't fall off the side. 'Good thinking Luffy!' Sabo said happy, Luffy just grinned. 'We need to find a boat and get the hell out of here before we're killed too' Ace said a bit more serious, the fight around them started to get nasty and half of the boats were on fire. They stood up and Luffy put his hat back on his head again, Ace and Sabo grabbed their knifes with more force.

This was it, what they had been waiting for. 'Let's check the back of the boat for smaller boats' Sabo said while turning around. Ace grabbed Luffy's hand 'Don't let go Lu, we need to be fast.'. Luffy just nodded and then they started to ran through the chaos of the deck. Most of the men didn't notice the three boys running past them toward the back of the boat. The men that did notice didn't have the time to do anything about it because they needed to defend the ship. Whenever the boat was thrown to one side Ace and Sabo used their knives to help them slow down or Luffy grabbed ahold of the railing. 

The got up on their feet immediately and continued their journey, there was one explosion that was so close that all three brothers were thrown back a few meters. Their ear were ringing and Sabo had one of his hands covering his left eye where it felt like his skin had been burned off. 'Sabo, are you okay?' Luffy's voice was etched with concern but seemed to come from far away. Then Luffy's face got into his point of view, without his normal smile. 'Ne Ace I think we have to carry him for a bit.' Luffy looked at his older brother who nodded. So they both grabbed one arm, put that over their shoulders and continued to run towards freedom. When they finally reached the back of the boat they saw one small boat with one mast and a cabin.

'Luffy get inside the cabin and hold the rudder, Ace unfurl the sail and jib, I will cut us lose.' Sabo said his voice steady but etched with pain. 

When Ace wanted to protest Sabo cut in, 'I will have time to rest once we are free.'. 

'No we can't!' Luffy said looking a bit scared. 

'What!? Why not?' Ace and Sabo now yelled in union.

 Luffy looked at his brothers with confusion in his eyes, 'Because Sabo can't cut both ropes at the same time and if he only cuts one then the boat will fall with only that side down.'. 

Sabo and Ace looked at the boat and realized that their stupid little brother was right, the boat was connected at the front and at the back. Luffy hopped from one foot to another, 'Ace give me your knife, I'll cut the front and Sabo the back.'. Ace nodded and gave his knife to Luffy and the brothers climbed onto their smaller boat hanging on the side of the bigger boat. The screaming got louder and the sail on the big boat caught fire. 

'Luffy we need to do this at the same time right now or we're toast. On three, 1...2...3!' Sabo yelled. The boat fell down and all three brothers screamed when their stomachs rose into their throats, then the boat made contact with the water and they all landed with a loud thud.

Luffy started to have a laughing fit while his brothers finished the sails and pushed their boat away from the big one. After their sails caught the wind and they sailed away they saw another small boat with one man on it. 'Is that the only pirate attacking the fleet?' Sabo asked with awe while looking around.
