5. The game

Somewhere in Paradise

Marco and Thatch walked through the city, talking about some of the new pirates. 'You know Akagami Shanks is back from the east blue and his bounty has grown quite a bit.' Thatch said thoughtful, looking around the city.

Marco gave him is bored smile, 'That boy will never beat pops yoi.'.

'I didn't say that, all I'm saying is that he could make things interesting. But I wonder who's the one who took his arm though.' Thatch responded with a smile.

They turned a corner and their crewmember and brother Izou walked towards them, 'Oi brothers, I found the pirates that have been bothering the citizen!'.

'Good, lead the way. But I don't think we need your help yoi'.

'Oh I know, I'm just here to watch the show' Izou responded with a smirk.

Thatch laughed and threw his arm around his brothers, 'I'm glad to be back in paradise, everything is so easy here but never boring!'.

It was early in the morning, Luffy was napping in the sun without a shirt on and his hat covering his face, Sabo and Ace were preparing for the next island. They had been free from the Don Krieg Pirated for a week now and finally saw an island getting closer. They ran out of food two days ago so the brothers were low on energy. Ace kicked Luffy's foot to get his attention, 'Oi Luffy, wake up! We need to talk.'.

Luffy slowly lifted his hat of his face, 'Meat?'.

'No Luffy no meat yet, but we do need to talk.' Sabo sighed looking at his little brother. Luffy sat up straight noticing this was a time to pay attention and be serious so he nodded to his brothers.

'We need to be careful on the next island. The first thing we'll do I buy us some food but we can't go all out because Mihawk didn't give us a lot of money. Also we need to buy a weapon for you Luffy.'

Luffy started to grin, 'A knife like you and Ace?'.

'Yes exactly.' Sabo responded with a smile.

'But Luffy you can't go off on your own. We need to teach you how to steal money and stuff because I don't think we can hunt at every island.' Ace added with a grave face.

'No running of and staying close, what kind of stuff do we need to steal then?' Luffy asked with a smile.

Sabo looked at him thoughtfully, 'Well we need more clothing for all of us and 3 hammocks so we can sleep better. Also blankets and pillows and maybe some basic medicine supplies.',.

Luffy looked at his brother with an empty expression, clearly already forgetting what his brother said. 'You know what Luffy, after we had some food we are going to play a game.' Sabo said with a smile.

'Yaay! What kind of game?!' Luffy laughed.

'Well,' Sabo responded, 'the game is to find out who can steal the most wallets or stuff that we need. We are going to give it a try one after another, the one with the most successes wins!'.

Ace laughed at his brother mumbling that he's a genius. They explained it all a bit more, still acting like it was a game and by the end of it Luffy had a mischievous gleam in his eyes and laughed that he would beat his brothers.

After they docked their boat Luffy was ready to shoot himself into the city when he realized his promise just in time. When he turned around Ace and Sabo were looking at him with ticks at their heads, Luffy just laughed sheepishly. They went into the city and the first restaurant the saw was a place that sold ramen. Sabo ordered three big ramen bowls with extra everything and not soon after the food was brought to the three brothers. Luffy didn't waste any time and attacked his food, Ace remembering his lesson from Makino said thankyou before doing the same. Sabo thanked the man and attacked his food as well not being able to keep calm. Luffy was the first that was finished but he waited on his brothers giving them both puppy eyes. Sabo just finished his bowl and without looking at Luffy asked the owner if they could get another round.
