𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥.. school started about 3 months ago, it's been a while since we've talked so allow me to catch you up.

Berlin and i have gotten super close, best friend status even, in July we spent nearly every single day together just hanging out.

Ryder turned 15! and man puberty hit him overnight i guess because he's taller than me now which is insane to think about.

my mom is doing good hence the situation with my father, the divorce got finalized and i haven't spoken with him since but he still talks to Ryder almost daily.. weird i know.

with all the shit going on, i'm surprisingly doing well. Berlin and i are in senior year and crazy enough we have most classes together.

the new school i'm going to is pretty cool, i've made some new friends already which is always nice. the modeling is going good also, i wasn't expecting it to go so well and i'm not even sure if i wanna stick with it.

"i'm so ready to get home and lay down" i say exhausted.

"the realest thing i've heard all week, i'm tired" Berlin agrees.

we were walking home from school like we have been since the first day.

i laugh "how was your classes without me?"

"boring and miserable, what about you?"

"exactly what you said" i agree.

"in a couple hours, Joe is coming by my house to hang out and i wanted to know if you'd be down to meet him" he looks at me.

"yeah that's fine" i smile at him.

when i got home, i ate a snack and did all my homework so i could take a nap.

i woke up to my phone ringing, it was Berlin so i pick up "hello?"

"my fault i didn't mean to wake you up-"

"how'd you know i was asleep?" i laugh.

"your voice, anyway Joe is here and he wants to meet you too so i just wanted to let you know"

"okay i'll be there in a minute, let me change into something comfier" i tell him.

"aint no way you fell asleep in jeans" he laughs.

i laugh "aye man i was tired"

we talk for another minute or so before hanging up. i get off the bed and freshen up, changing into some shorts and sliding some shoes on before walking out the door.

i walk across the street and knock on the door before being told to come in by his mom.

"hi mama" i greet Regina.

"hey baby how was school?" she says as we exchange a hug.

"it was good, how was your day?" i smile.

"stressful but still good thanks for asking, the boys are in the living room"

"okay cool, thank you" i say before walking over there.

the first thing i hear is "damn she's already on your moms good side? you better keep her" which makes me laugh.

they both stand up and i exchange a hug with Berlin before shaking hands with Joe.

"i'm Joe, nice to meet you"

"you too, i'm Nova"

"yeah i know, this man will not stop talking about you" he laughs making Berlin roll his eyes.

i laugh "awe you talk about me?"

"yeah yeah next topic" he shakes his head before sitting down.

we both sit down as well and continue talking.

"are you guys hungry?" Regina says.

all three of us say yes in unison which makes us laugh.

"alright i'll make something and let you know when it's done" she says.

"thank you"

"lets go to my room" Berlin suggests, we agree and follow him to his room.

"do you smoke?" Joe asks me.

"smoke what?" i look at him.

"banyan"

"what the hell is that-" i look at them confused.

"that's what we call weed" Joe explains.

"ohh, no i don't. i'm assuming you do?"

"from time to time"

"do you?" i look at Berlin.

"sometimes" he shrugs.

"wow you learn something new everyday" i laugh.

they laugh "would you be open to trying it?"

"i mean, why not? first time for everything" i shrug.

"man i like her already, she's cool as fuck" Joe says.

"she is" Berlin nods.

i just laugh and sit down on the bed.

we talk for a while just getting to know one another and the occasional Berlin commentary comes in which is always funny.

Regina told us food was ready so we went to the kitchen and ate. not long after that, my mom called me because she wanted me and Ryder to come with her to run errands.

i said my goodbyes and i went back home.
