𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞..  he had invited me over last night but i was too lazy to get out of bed, so we decided today would be better.

i knock on the door and after a few seconds he opens it with a smile "come on in"

"hello to you too" i laugh as i walk in.

"hey gorgeous" Regina smiles at me.

"hi" i smile back.

"what're you kids going to do?" she looks at Berlin with a raised eyebrow.

"probably just hang out in my room" he looks at me for validation.

i nod "sounds good to me, if that's okay with you"

"that's fine.. just leave the door open" she says before walking towards the kitchen.

we walk to his room and i look around at my surroundings "your room is so cool"

"eughh thank you" he laughs while walking over to his bed.

"you're welcome" i smile and sit on his bed.

"so what'd you wanna do?" he asks.

"i'm down for anything really"

we mutually agreed to just get to know each other a little better and play 21 questions..

"when is your birthday?" he asks.

"march 5th, what about you?" i look at him.

"December 16th, why'd you guys move to California?"

"my mom got a job opportunity out here and she thinks i should start modeling and singing sooo here we are, what's your dream job?"

"i've never heard you sing but you'd be amazing at modeling. i wanna be an entrepreneur, i wanna play games and get involved with that world. what do you look for in friends?" he asks.

"entrepreneur as a job seems so cool! and probably just someone who's genuine and honest, someone i know i can come to about whatever and not be afraid to be myself around. do you have a best friend?"

"that was a really good answer and yeah i do, his name is Joe. what's the first thing you would do if you woke up as a guy?"

"hmmm... i honestly would just wanna see how i think, i want to see what little things i would consider compared to what i have to consider now you know? where do you want to live someday?"

"damn all your answers are so thought out, i love the way you think" he says making me smile. "i don't know where i'd wanna live, i just know probably not here in Cali"

we keep playing until we run out of questions and honestly it's so refreshing to meet someone my age who thinks the way i do, like when you click with someone instantly.. it's just so nice, i really hope our friendship lasts.

"hey food's done, i wasn't sure if you were gonna eat here or not but i made you a plate" Regina says walking a bit into his bedroom.

"oh thank you so much, let me just text my mom to let her know" i reply with a smile before grabbing my phone and messaging my mother.

"anytime baby, i'll be at the table" she smiles and walks off.

"i love your family, they're so sweet" i look at Berlin while we get up.

"yeah they're pretty dope" he laughs.

𝒶𝓉 𝓉𝒽ℯ 𝓉𝒶𝒷𝓁ℯ

"Britani, would you say grace before we eat?" Regina looks at her.

she says grace and we begin eating shortly after.

"so Nova, what do you like to do for fun?" Regina asks looking at me.

"oh uhm, i love to draw and take photos of nature and my family, swimming is always a go to as well, i also like reading and just spending time with people" i smile.

"wow all great things, any goals for the future? have you decided to go to college?" she questions.

"yeah i plan to go to college, for my future goals.. i just want to be the best i can be with whatever i end up doing, i want to make the world a better place and make a community filled with love and serenity" i explain before taking a bite.

"your cooking is so good by the way" i add.

she laughs "thank you baby. you have a strong head on your shoulders, i wish nothing but the best for you hun"

"thank you" i smile.

"now do you have a boyfriend? single?" she raises an eyebrow.

"mom-" Berlin tries to interrupt.

"no it's okay, i'm not dating anybody currently. i never had a relationship ever" i laugh.

"that's shocking to hear because you're such a beautiful young woman" she nods.

"why thank you. i'm not sure how California is but i know back in my hometown, finding a genuine relationship is hard because while your looks get you one place, not everyone thinks the same way and it's a really frustrating process" i explain.

"Cali ain't much different" Berlin mentions shaking his head.

"good to know" i laugh.

𝒶𝒻𝓉ℯ𝓇 𝒹𝒾𝓃𝓃ℯ𝓇

"thank you for coming over, it was great to see you Nova" Regina says.

"you as well! thank you for having me" i smile.

"you're welcome to come over anytime" she states.

"i'll keep that in mind, have a good night" i say before walking outside with Berlin.

he wanted to walk me to my door to make sure nothing happened since it was dark out.

"it was great seeing you, i'm sorry about my mom interrogating you at dinner" Berlin says as we walk.

"it was great seeing you too and don't worry about it, i get it. i'd probably wanna know more about my future kid's friends too just to see how they think and for safety" i laugh.

he laughs "yeah it makes sense looking at it from that perspective"

we get to my house and exchange a hug and say one last goodbye before i walk inside and go to bed.

A/N:
i'm not trying to go fast pace with this story but i also don't want it to be super slow to where you get bored while reading it.. hopefully what i'm doing is a good pace!
