The thundering rain rang through my ears as I was depending on my phones flashlight to see. Chris decided to stay until the rain calmed down. 5 hours passed, the rain hadn't stopped and in fact had gotten worse. I looked down at Chris who had his eyes shut as he laid on his back peacefully, listening to the heavy rain and thunder. I threw my head back, sighing. I could feel the adrenaline had already built up inside me. Maybe not adrenaline, more so...this really impulsive energy. I felt so alive. There was this amazing euphoric feeling twisting around in my stomach that felt like colors. Like the sun shined from me. Like I could do anything and not care about consequences. And I usually feel that way, but with this feeling I didn't even care about death, or prison, I didn't care about putting myself or others in danger. I couldn't think anymore, all I wanted to do was dance and laugh and smile and talk without a stop. I could build an empire right now. A whole fucking pyramid.
I sat back up and looked over to Chris.
"Chris?" I nudged him. "Yeah?" He opened his eyes, sitting up and looking at me making it clear that he wasn't sleeping. "Let's go outside." I smiled brightly. "You're insane, no." Chris chuckled to not make his sentence seem harsh. "Come on! It'll be fun, better than staying inside." I stated in the most convincing tone I could muster before standing up and grabbing my shoes.
"You can't be serious." Chris said, watching me tie my shoes. "I am, lucky you didn't take your shoes off." I said, as I tucked the laces of my shoes inside. I grabbed him by his hands and pulled him up. "Let's go." I smiled again, looking directly at him.

I didn't wanna go at all. I'd rather stay inside when the rain is heavy and not to mention when I can hear thunder every 2 seconds. But, something about her smile is so compelling, her eyes are so daring and hypnotising. I really can't say no to this girl, and I don't know why.
I smiled at her in defeat, basically saying yes without talking. Clo gently held the tips of my fingers to make sure I was walking behind her as she unlocked the door and stepped outside. She carelessly threw the keys to the ground, not bothering to lock the door. "You sure you wanna drop the keys? What if-" Before I could finish, Clo cut me off as she continued walking down the stairs with me trailing behind her, "Don't worry about it[."
We made it outside, immediately getting decked by the cold rain. In the first milisecond I was already drenched. I could barely see Clo, the wind blew through me caushing me to shiver. The hairs on my body didn't get a chance to stand up before the rain pushed them down onto my skin. Her laughter was worth it. "I love the rain!" She shouted through laughter, making me slightly smile as I squinted due to the pouring rain, hugging myself from coldness.
Clo took me by the hand and spun me around ballerina style a couple times before cheering with the thunder. She laughed, leaning back as far as she could, holding onto my hands to not fall. "We should go back insi-" I yelled through the wind but didn't get a chance to finish as she cut me off again, "We should go to New York." Clo held both my hands as she spoke. New York? What drugs did she take while I had my eyes closed?
I looked at her, puzzled. Did I hear he wrong? "What?" I yelled, furrowing my eyebrows into a confused expression. "You wanna go to New York?" She asked. "How?" I questioned her and then questioned myself on why I didn't just say no. "I'll drive." Clo let go of one of my hands and dragged me inside gently by the other not giving me time to process. "I don't think we can get to New York in the time you think we can get to New York." I said nervously. "It's like 41 hours or something, we'll live." She brushed it off. I huffed, following behind her as she held onto my hand.
We stopped at a door that wasn't hers. Clo balled her hand into a fist and knocked on the door. Not soon after it opened and my eyes were met with Cam. "Can I borrow your car?" Clo asked as soon as Cam appeared. "For what?" Her friend asked. "To the store, duh. My charge broke, Chris' phone is dead, he doesn't have a charger and the store is closer than his home so it's safer." She lied. The girl in the doorway sighed as she went back into her apartment, coming back with the keys of her car and handing it to Clo. "I know you're lying. Don't fuck up my car." Cam smiled politely at me before shutting her door.
Fuck my life.

"Do you think maybe this is a bad idea?" Chris said as he sat down in the car. Fuck no it's not a bad idea. Come on, it's summer! sure, it's raining, but it's still summer. New York is fucking awesome. "Buckle your seatbelt." I instructed as I buckled my own seatbelt. The boy huffed before doing the same as me. "Maybe we should-" I didn't let him finish as I started driving as fast as I could, he pressed up against his seat because of how fast I was going as I laughed. "Slow down!" Chris yelled. I grinned as I made a sharp turn just for fun, the car screeched as its feels scraped the wet concrete. I shouted, exulting through my voice loudly.
I am on top of the fucking world.

I'm gonna die today. I'm dead already. Fuck, what did I get myself into.
