RIO
Boss, we need you here at the warehouse. It's urgent.
I had the nastiest scowl on my face as i exited the bar, and entered the parking lot. Were my men incapable of doing anything without me?
I let out a frustrated breath as i got situated in the drivers seat. My phone rang the second i reversed out of the parking lot. I answered it, keeping one hand on the steering wheel.
" Somebody had better be dying." I said, agitation clear in my voice.
"Nobody's dying." Riccardo, my second in command said almost immediately. "We have a problem."
"Fuck is the problem now?"
Every day there was another fucking problem, a man's job was never done.
"One of our shipments is missing." He informed me and i raised a brow. That's what was so fucking urgent?
"So find it. Fuck are you calling me for?" I questioned, agitation clear in my voice.
"That's the problem. I suspect someone's stolen it." He informed me and i furrowed my brows in confusion. Who the fuck would steal from me?
"Who would steal one of my shipments?" I questioned curiously. To my knowledge, i had no enemies. So what motive would one have from stealing from me?
"I don't know, Rio. That's why i called you." He said and i could just tell he was rolling his eyes- i hate him. "There's also a special guest waiting for you in the basement." My ears perked up at that and i smirked.
"I'll be there soon." I told him.
I hung up, tossing my phone onto the passenger's seat.
You're not as discreet, as you think.
My mind thought back to the woman i'd met no less than forty minutes ago. Navia. Her name was stuck in my head like a catchy melody.
It'd been a while since i had an actual conversation with a woman. Speaking to women wasn't like me. Entertaining women definitely wasn't like me. I was quiet and reserved, and most importantly- i hated to be bothered.
Women practically threw themselves at me every where i went- attractive women, yes. But rarely any that caught my eye. I always got stuck with women who tried to hard, or talked too much, and nine times out of ten; i had absolutely no interest in what they were saying.
If they were lucky, i'd fuck them, and if they weren't? i'd tell them to fuck off.
As harsh as it sounds, I just wanted to fuck and leave the next morning. I didn't want to see them again. I didn't want their number. I didn't want to know anything about them nor did i need to. And much to my surprise, it seemed like she wanted the exact same thing. To have me for one night and never see me again.
She was different.
She didn't throw herself at me. She merely sat there and let her eyes do most of the talking. I didn't feel bothered or annoyed by her. She exuded a certain confidence as she spoke that had me hoping she'd say more.
I arrived at the warehouse, greeting the two guards at the front. The garage door rolling up not more than a second later, the familiar creaking sound filling my ears. I had guards surrounding the perimeter of the warehouse along with surveillance cameras.
