NAVIA

Two week later:

I rounded the corner of my favorite place, wrapping my coat tighter around my body- man it was cold. One of the many things i hated about New York, was the bipolar weather. It was the middle of October and it was already freezing cold. If fall felt like this...i was dreading winter. You'd think i'd be used to it by now, seeing as though, i spent most of my life here. But still, the drastic weather changes never failed to amaze me.

Bit' of Cream.

It was a small cute family owned cafe downtown. I came here almost every day, sometimes in the morning before class, and sometimes in the afternoon after my classes. In my opinion, they had the best iced coffee in Manhattan.

But hey, that's just me.

The smell of coffee beans, and fresh baked pastries hit my nostrils as i walked in, joining the line. The place wasn't super busy today- there were a few people sitting down, and two people ahead of me on the line.

"Hello hello hello." Savannah, my usual barista greeted in a sing-song as i approached the counter. "What can i get for ya' today?"

"Can i get my usual?" I asked and she hummed, i ordered the same thing every day. Iced caramel macchiato. Call me basic- but it was just too damn good.

"Would you like anything else?" She questioned, putting that into the computer.

I thought about it for a second. I was a little hungry, since i hadn't had time to grab something to eat before class this morning. "I'll also have a Cheese Danish."

"Good choice." She winked. "Which flavor would you like? I recommend the strawberry one, it's our best seller." She informed me and i hummed.

"I'll take the strawberry." I nodded and she smiled brightly at me.

"That'll be $11.56." I fished a twenty dollar bill out of my back pocket, sliding it over to her.

"Keep it." I told her just as she went to hand me back the change.

"Thank you darlin'." She thanked me and i waved at hand at her to say 'no problem'.

"So how's school going for you? Cause' I'm fixin' to drop out." Savannah said, making small talk as she prepared my order and i smiled- i knew the feeling. I'd considered dropping out at least ten times in the past three years i'd been in college.

"School is school." I shrugged. I could've gone into more detail about how stressful school was and how much i wanted to murder Professor Gibbins. But we'd be here all day.

I was totally joking about the murder thing by the way.

"Is it that bad?" I questioned her, referring to school.

Savannah was cool. She was around my age- i think, and a she was also a college student like me. She usually worked during the morning so i assumed she went classes later on in the day. Savannah was the most Bubbly, Free spirited person i'd ever encountered in my life. She always had the brightest smile on her face whenever she greeted customers, and that alone had the ability to make anyone's day.

And i can't forget about her accent. Cutest little southern accent i'd ever heard. I made a mental note to ask her where she was from the next time i came.

"Yes, it's that bad. I have three assignments due tomorrow and i haven't started one." She told me, wincing slightly. "Should i drop out?"
