NAVIA
Monday.
I loved Mondays. Crazy? I know right. Monday's were easy, less stressful- probably because i had the least classes and the day went by rather quickly.
After finishing up with my last class of the day, i decided to take a walk around campus. Luckily, it wasn't too cold out today- it was nearing the end of October and the sun was shining bright. The nice fall breeze making up for this week's freezing weather.
Walking through campus, i watched the other students that were either in between classes or heading back to their dorm rooms. I was fortunate enough to be able to have my own apartment off campus. Courtesy of my mother. I no longer had to deal with snobby roommates who had no respect for my boundaries. Thankfully, it wasn't a far commute and i also had a car.
I grimaced as i thought back to my roommate from freshman year, Alana Porter. Gosh- she was such a fucking bitch.
I'm not saying, i expected us to be the best of friends; because realistically speaking nobody really ends up being close friends with their roommates. That's just the sad reality of dorming. But i at least thought, we could be acquaintances.
I thought wrong.
Alana wanted absolutely nothing to do with me. The only time she ever spoke to me would be to inform me that her boyfriend would be coming over. That boyfriend of hers was no better. He was just as snobby and stuck up as she was and he just gave off bad vibes overall.
Now, i never said she couldn't invite her boyfriend over. However, i did kindly tell her that it would be much appreciated it if she would ask me if he could come over first. Considering he was over every other day, and sometimes he would even spend the night. His presence made me slightly uncomfortable- actually it made me very uncomfortable, and i refused to uncomfortable in my own dorm.
I explained this to her in a very calm collected manner, her response was anything but that. She basically told me to fuck off and that if i didn't like her boyfriend i could leave because he was here to stay.
She didn't have to tell me twice.
Soleil had extra space in her dorm and she didn't hesitate to ask me to move in with her. I was skeptical at first because i didn't want to impose and she already had a roommate of her own. But her roommate was surprisingly very understanding after i'd explained the whole situation to her and agreed to let me move in.
So i dormed with Soleil and her roommate Aria, for the remainder of freshman year until my mom found an apartment for me.
I'd forever be grateful for the pair of them for welcoming me into their space with open arms. Aria and i weren't friends then- and i guess we still aren't, but she was always kind to me. We exchange a few words from time to time when we run into each other around campus, but never anything more than that.
Soleil was my only friend here and i was okay with that.
"Hey, Navia!" Think of her and she shall appear. "Stop walking so damn fast." Soleil said, running up to my side and i slowed down as she walked beside me.
"Hey." I turned to face her with a small smile on my lips. "Your hair is nice." Her long box braids were styled in a nice half up half down hairstyle, with two loose braids hanging in the front.
"Really? Thanks, it took me forever to get this hairstyle right." She let out a sigh of relief before narrowing her eyes at me- what? "I've been looking all over campus for you." She told me and i frowned. She was?
