NAVIA
Friday had come quicker than i'd anticipated.
Entering the upscale restaurant that my Dad had picked out, i let out a small gasp as i took in the scenery. I could always count on my Father to go all out. Everything about the place was beautiful, from the lavish decor to the piano bar.
When i looked up the restaurant online i was informed that they offered nine course meals. I didn't know what that consisted of, but i'd find out soon enough.
Shaking my head as i walked through the restaurant, a large grin making it's way onto my face as i reached my father's table.
"There she is." He said with a smile as he rose to his feet, making his way over to me. I was almost expecting him to look different, but he looked the same as he did the last time i'd seen him. The same shiny bald head, the same deep brown eyes that matched mine, and the same smile. "Don't just stand there, give me a hug."
"Hi Dad." I greeted with a smile, taking a step forward to give him a hug. I sighed into the hug when he rested his chin on the top of my head-gosh i missed this.
He gave me a small squeeze before pulling away. "Look at you." He gushed, holding onto my upper arms, his eyes scanning my appearance briefly. "Your hair is longer?" He furrowed his brows.
I smiled, "It is." I confirmed. My hair was down today, cascading down my back, stopping right above my butt. The last time he'd seen me it probably reached the middle of my back.
"I thought so. It looks beautiful." He nodded, pulling out my chair for me before walking over to the other side of the table taking a seat in the chair opposite to me.
I thanked him as i sat down and he waved me off. Just as he went to open his mouth, a young blonde waitress approached us with menus.
"Hello my name is Julie and i will be your server for tonight. Can i start you guys off with some hors d'oeuvres?" She questioned and i turned my attention back to Dad with a raised brow to which he just shrugged.
"Yes, thank you." He said with a smile and Julie walked away turning her back to us.
"So." He interlocked his fingers, resting them on his chin. "Anything new i should know about?" He questioned and i shook my head with a small smirk.
I thought about it for a moment, did i have anything new to share with him? "I got a A on my most recent assignment." I told him and he smiled widely.
"Good job." He praised me and i smiled too. "For which class?"
"Creative Writing."
"That's great." He said sincerely, giving me a small smile. "What else sweetheart?" He questioned starting at me intently. One thing to know about my father, he was big on eye contact- very fucking big on it. When he was speaking, his eyes didn't leave yours once. He'd taught me from a very young age that looking people directly in the eye as they spoke, was not only a way to show respect but it was also a way to make yourself look more confident.
"There is one thing." My eyes widened in realization when i realized i hadn't told him. "I got a tattoo."
He narrowed his eyes at me. " Where?" He questioned and i gripped the fabric at the collar of my cardigan, pulling it slightly to reveal the ink on my shoulder.
"Divine Feminine?" He read it, raising an eyebrow and i hummed fixing my shirt. "It's nice. Don't let your mother see that." He told me and i laughed.
