Lorenzo's pov:
*2 months later*
My alarm went off, it's been going for 30 minutes. I didn't have the energy to get out of bed. I've been trying to sleep but that didn't work. I just lay there and stare at the ceiling. I was ready to give up. The only thing keeping me alive right now was Clara. I was living for her.
It was all my fault.
Charlotte yelled at me everyday. I deserved it. What I did was unacceptable.
"We found a trace of her" someone banged in my room. I immediately stood up. "What?" "We think we found her location" I didn't know what to say. The video was the last thing I've seen from her. This wasn't possible.
Noah and Rafe were already standing in the hall. The look on their faces was different, they had hope.
I took all the equipment we needed, adrenaline was rushing through my body. I ran as fast as I could to the car. Once I was set I took a minute to realize what was happening. It's the first time in two months since I heard there was a trace of Lillian.
The only thing I was scared of was how we were going to find her. Will she be alive or dead?
I heard the other cars go so I followed them immediately. My people have done their research and think she is in a small abandoned house 2 hours away. My heart was racing and I felt the adrenaline rushing through my veins.
After what felt like the 2 longest hours in my life we arrived in an old town. It was full of abandoned houses, this was definitely a mafia area.
I stepped out of my car and immediately took my gun. I scanned the surrounding area and it looked safe.
We gathered together and divided ourselves into groups because there were a lot of houses to search. Everybody left but I just stood there, I don't know what was about to happen.Noah stood next to me "it's going to be alright." He assured me. It wasn't going to be alright. What if we didn't find her or what if we found her just not alive. A heavy feeling got to my chest, it felt like ten bricks fell on my chest. I only have experienced this once before and that was when my mother died. And the only thing that helped me calm down was Lillian.
I slowly took steps, the only thing on my mind was finding Lillian alive.
I entered one of the houses and scanned the first floor, nothing. I went to the second floor but found nothing. I tried to reassure myself that it was only the first house and there were plenty more to search. I went to 3 other buildings.
Nothing.None of my people have found anyring either, every minute counted.
I entered another house, not expecting much. I walked into the living room, I recognised it from somewhere. It looked familiar. I have definitely seen this before. Then my mind clicked. The video.
"Lillian" I immediately shouted, no answer back. I heard something stumble upstairs, I ran the stairs up and saw someone climbing through the window. I shot his leg and walked over to him. I took him by his collar and smashed him against the wall. "Where is she?" I shouted. He was shaking with his legs because they couldn't touch the floor.
"Deep under the ground," he said. All the strength left my body. He fell but I quickly shot him in the head.
Is she dead?I ran outside. I needed to process what I just heard, she can't be dead. That isn't possible. She needed to be alive. I was not accepting the truth.
I needed to gather myself before searching again. Every house will be searched twice. I will not leave without her.
I went into a house and sat by myself. Taking deep breaths in and out. Just when I was about to walk away I heard a grunt. I immediately took my gun.
I slowly walked towards the sound. The floor made a squeaking sound. Shit.
"Enzo"
My feet were hammered to the floor when I heard my name. It has never been said like that. How did the person know it was me?
I turned around the corner, my gun ready to fire. It dropped when I saw a woman laying on the floor curled up in a corner.
Lillian."Fuck, stay right there. Don't move." I ran towards her, lifting her into my arms. I collapsed on the floor with her in my arms. Holding her so tightly.
She felt so lifeless and fragile. I released my grip from her to check her. She immediately fell into the wall. Her body had no strength. "Fuck Lilly, open your eyes. You're safe. I'm here, I'm here." I cupped her face in my hands.
"Help! I need help!" I shouted" while holding onto Lilly's body like my life depends on it. I wasn't letting her go.
Two seconds later 10 men gathered into the room. Noah and Rafe looked at me like they've seen a ghost. It was the first time I ever asked for help and they saw Lillian in my arms.
I tried lifting her up with all care. If I drop her, it will be over. She finally opened her eyes, and looked at me. "Enzo?"
She was the only person who said my name like that. "It's me, you're safe" I reassured her. She snuggled her head on my chest as I walked her to my car.
I found her.
