Chapter 18: Monsters Are Real

The next day at school Scarlett told me she could come over but her dad had to drop her off. "He wants to meet Oliver?" I asked confused as to why. "Yeah. He's very paranoid he wants to make sure your family aren't murders." She said rolling her eyes. I laughed "Does he know how long we've known each other?" I asked her. "Yeah he's just paranoid." She said once again rolling her eyes.
After she came over and we had a really great time. Her dad was surprised to see Oliver was my father but you know. So Scarlett and I hung out and watched movies all night and talked. We were listening to Carry On my Wayward Son in my room laying on our stomachs on the floor with our chins in our palms. "So Starling City has a vigilante." Scarlett said, "The Arrow." I laughed "Yup very strange city." I stated. "So what are your thoughts on the vigilante?" I asked curiously. "Which one? The Arrow, Arsenal, the black Canary that's disappeared, the random guy that helps, or the girl one that's also like the flash?" Scarlett asked. I laughed most especially when she called Diggle the random guy "All of them I guess." I laughed. "Well I think they're awesome. It's so cool what they do saving your city." then she sat up "And I think you know who they are." She said. I sat up too "Why would you think that?!" I asked. "First of all you juts gave it away with your reaction second of all you're one of the strongest people I know I think your the girl arrow." She said. I used to tell Scarlett everything but this time it wasn't juts my secret. Finally I sighed. "Yeah I'm the girl arrow but I can't tell you who the others are." I told her. "The arrows Oliver." She said I couldn't contain my surprise. She laughed "I knew it!" She exclaimed. "You can't tell anyone." I said. "I won't scouts honor." She said holding up three fingers in the girl scout hand sign. "So what about you what have you been hiding?" I asked. "What do you mean?" She asked. "I'm not an idiot I can tell you've been lying." I said. She sighed "You wouldn't believe me if I told you." She said. "Uh, hello? Girls with super speed sitting right in front of you." I said gesturing to myself. She leaned forward "Do you believe in monsters?" She whispered. "I-uh-what?" I asked confused. "My dad and uncle hunt them. Vampires, werewolves, ghosts, demons, demonic clowns that eat people." She said. I started at her in shock. She wasn't lying or joking she was dead serious. "I-" She cut me off "It's okay it's understandable why you wouldn't believe me but why do you think my dad" accidentally spilt that flask on your dad?" She asked using her fingers to gesture quotation marks on accidentally. "It obviously wasn't an accident it was holy water." She finished. "Oh... Wow..." I said. She frowned "You don't believe me." She said. "Actually I do its just a lot to take in." I said honestly. I did believe her but it was weird. She smiled and shook her head. Then there was a ring at the door bell. "Scarlett your dads here!" Oliver yelled. She stood up "Well I gotta go. Please don't say anything to my dad. He'll kill me!" She said. I laughed "So long as you don't say anything to Oliver I won't say anything to Dean." I said standing up with her. "Deal." She grinned locking pinky fingers with me quickly. Then we went down stairs and she left.
"Well she was nice. I think besides Chloe she's the only friend of yours I've met." Oliver said to me. "Yeah I'm kind of a loner at this new school." I said. Oliver frowned. "You know her dad was weird though." he said ignoring the loner comment. I laughed "Says the vigilante." I said. "Two shay." he replied. I glanced at the clock it was 7:30. "Well I guess I'm gonna go down to STAAR Labs and see if they need anything." I said. "Okay see ya." he said. "Bye." I replied and went out the door.
