Chapter 26: Your Job Was To Stay

For the past week I have avoided everyone. I haven't done anything with the team, I haven't talked to Flash either, Thea iv'e been avoiding. She, of course was confused by that considering she had no idea where Oliver was, and she didn't know that he was dead, which I found out when Felicity told me Merlyn told her. So I'm grieving and only a few people know. 

 Felicity had been a huge help. Always checking up on me. Telling me it was going to be okay. We grieved together. Ever since my mom died, Felicity has been like that motherly figure in my life. I needed that, I'm so lucky to have her.

 I was sitting in my room the news was on but it was just back ground noise to me. It was a dull roar because I was writing a song and if it was too loud I wouldn't be able to focus. I was half way through the song when there was a knock at my door. I sighed and put my guitar on my bed and went to open it, expecting Thea. What I got wasn't Thea. It was Oliver.

"Hey." He said.

"Daddy," I whispered throwing my arms around him. I felt tears come to my eyes and he hugged me.

"It's okay. I'm okay" He whispered.

"I thought you were dead." I muttered into his coat.

"I know. I'm sorry." He sighed. We pulled apart and I looked up at him.

"Your job was to stay." I said.

"I'm sorry." He said. I sighed.

"Have you seen Felicity, or Diggle, or Roy, or Laurel yet?" I asked. He shook his head.

"I'm headed there now. Wanna come?" He asked. I nodded and grabbed a sweatshirt pulling it over my head not caring about the fact that I looked like crap, and slipped on some flip flops. I was wearing sweat pants, a T-shirt, and my hair was pulled up into a bun. I followed Oliver outside and got into my car. He shrugged, not expecting me to get into my car, and got in next to me. I drove in silence.

When we arrived they were all sitting around the computer, except Laurel, I don't know where she went, watching the news. I wondered why Thea hadn't put two and two together. The same day Oliver comes back so does the arrow? How many times has that happened now? I shook my thoughts away when they turned.

"Sorry I didn't come bye sooner, I just wanted to check on Thea and M-" Oliver didn't get to finish because Felicity had run up to him and threw her arms around him. 

"It's okay. I'm okay." He soothed repeating the same words he said to me. As the hugged I made eye contact with the other three and pointed at them making a face that clearly said: THEY BELONG TOGETHER! LOOK THEY'RE HUGGING! I SHIP IT SO MUCH! OLICITY! Diggle chuckled but nodded. Laurel and Roy both smirked. We are all on this ship, I'm captain, Diggle was before I came into the picture, but I quickly stole that position and they all know it. They let go of each other and Diggle spoke.

"Merlyn told us you were killed." Diggle said.

"I was close... I'm sorry I didn't reach out sooner there wasn't exactly a cell service area." He said. He smiled at Felicity and walked past her shaking Diggle's hand "You kept this city together." He moved to Roy "Saved the glades." he said shaking Roy's hand. He then walked over to a sword, caked in his own blood was.

"Gift from Merlyn, he went looking for you." I said my voice cracking. I remember I came down here to see Felicity once and she did't know I was coming so she didn't hide it. 

I walked down stairs to see my blonde friend typing away at the computers.

"Hey Felicity." I said my vice tired with no energy in it what so ever. She turned and I watched her eyes dart to the side. I looked over and gasped.

"Is that?" I asked remembering her tell me how Merlyn brought it. She frowned and sadly nodded. I chocked out a loud sob and broke down, turning away from the sight. She ran over and held me as I sobbed into her. It wasn't fair. This wasn't his fault.

Oliver looked at me frowning. 

"Ra's Al Ghuls right?" Roy asked.

"Yep." Oliver replied with a clenched jaw.

"So what are we gonna do about him? I mean if he finds out about Thea-" Roy began.

"Merlyn and I are working on that." Oliver said. I sat up eyes wide. What?!

"Sorry, for a second there it sounded like you said "Merlyn"." Felicity voiced my thoughts.

"I need to know how to defeat Ra's. Merlyn has the knowledge." Oliver said.

"Merlyn is a monster." I said.

"She's right. You're in this situation, Thea, is in this situation because of him." Felicity said very aggravated.

"Felicity-"

"No! Just a few hours ago, I stood right here and I swore there was no way that you would ever agree to work with Malcolm Merlyn, not ever. I guess I was wrong about everything." She said. Oliver frowned as she paused. "I need some air." She said walking past him angrily. "I'm glad you're not dead." She said as she passed him. Roy, Diggle, and I frowned watching her leave, we all gave Oliver looks and I shook my head also walking out. I didn't stop to talk to Felicity I just got into my car and waited for Oliver. I texted Leia, who moved in with Felicity finally, and just waited.

 Finally Oliver came back and got into the passenger seat. I looked up.

"She's mad?" I asked. He nodded. "She has a right to be. This is stupid." I said.

"Megan, you're sixteen, you don't understand, just drive." He said. I shook my head. Men are stupid. I thought as I drove. Why couldn't we just live a normal happy life. Where Oliver and Felicity were together and we were just some big happy family that went to barbecues and stuff. That, more then anything in the world is what I want. I want us to be a family, and I want everyone to just be happy. Honestly though, Oliver made that very hard.
