It 4-hour flight, great I hate heights, and of course we have to go on a plane to go to New York out of all the places we could've moved it had to be New York, Well at least I got accepted to a good school the uniforms aren't bad honestly.
"It's not that bad Mija, you know it's what your parents would've wanted," My aunt says
" ya lo se, You don't need to remind me"I give her a reassuring smile and go back to looking out the window, it's honestly so pretty up here it's sort of relaxing, I slowly drift off to sleep
Before I knew it I felt a book hit my head
"Wake up loser we landed, "My cousin Lizandro says I quickly wake up and I try to hit him
" y'all are so childish, get up and let's go, "my other cousin says, She rolls her eyes as she gets up and grabs our bags and throws them at us as we walk out.
"I hate you lizandro I hope you fall off a building or something," I say punching him softly on his arm, we argue the whole way but my aunt scolds us
"You two calm down, god my friend is going to pick us up so please be normal calm kids for once and she's bringing her son" She shakes her head in disappointment and we continue to walk and we see a lady with curly hair and scrubs and a boy with braids, my aunt hugs the lady and they start to talk while me and lizandro glare at each other and then he flips me off, lucky for us my aunt didn't see it but the boy did and he chuckles he had pretty light brown eyes and we made eye contact for a couple of seconds before my aunts grab me and pull me close to her
"Mija this is Rio and her son Miles you guys used to play together when you were little I have a photo since your mom sent them to me," She says as her facial expressions change a little to a sad one but I ignore it and I just put on a smile
" It's a pleasure to meet you again mrs Morales, it's a pleasure seeing you again after 10 years"I smile at her and shake her hand and I look at Miles
"And hi-" I get cut off by Lizandro pushing me to the side as he dabs Miles up
"Ignore my cousin she's insane," Lizandro says, Miles and he start talking as everyone starts walking out of the airport, I and Miles keep making eye contact a couple of times but I don't think much of it,
my cousin Lily looks at me and gives me a "someone has a crush" look
I roll my eyes and we arrive at the car
"Do all of us fit? " Miles asks his mom she shakes her head
"You guys have to squeeze together so I don't wanna hear it Maria and Lizandro" my aunt points at me and Lizandro
We all get in the car I'm sitting in between Miles and Lily, I'm mostly squeezed with miles so it's completely weird since I don't know him
After a couple of minutes, Rio hits a bump making me fall ontop on Miles, he catches me halfway he had a strong grip he sits me back
"You good ma?" he asks and I nod, "oh god he called me Ma I think I'm gonna lose my mind," I think to myself and I snap out of my thoughts when I get hit on the face with my phone
"Dumbass catch your phone next time," Lizandro says I roll my eyes and I look down at my phone and see a hundred messages my friends sent me god I'm losing my mind
