A small baby girl was sleeping peacefully in her crib when all of a sudden the window to her bedroom flung open and the strong, bitter wind and snowflakes of early February entered the room causing the small babe to cry out due to fear and the sudden cold.
In swept a figure of a man and he picked her up gently inspecting her. The babe had yet to open her eyes to see who exactly the intruder was but she could tell it wasn't her parents so she cried even louder. He started to rock her gently back and forth before softly singing to her a lullaby.
"Oh hush my little baby, my sweet precious, don't worry your little head, I'll be there to wipe your tears, and when you grow older we can go flower picking, in a beautiful field that'll remind me of you, my sweet little darling, my precious little babe~"
The little girl stopped her crying in favor of staring up at the man. He looked achingly similar to her father. Did that mean he was family? The tiny infant gurgled in curiosity and reached up to try and grab the man's face. To emphasize her attempts the babe balled and unballed her tiny fists.
"Look at you, you're so adorable. I wonder what your name is. Who am I? I'm your older brother Samuel. I know, it's illogical, to talk to you, you can't even understand me can you?" The strange man said causing the infant to tilt her head in confusion.
"No, you can't. How foolish of me." The man said hushing her again as a second figure appeared.
"C'mon Samuel. We need to leave before your father shows up." The woman said.
"I know Salina, I just wish..." Samuel trailed off not bothering to finish the sentence before going back out the window Salina following shortly behind him.
"Where'd you learn that song?" Salina asked.
"My mother used to sing it to me and my brothers when we were young." Samuel stated.
Meanwhile back in the room the door opened and in rushed Eric. He saw Natalie laying there in her crib her eyes still puffy from her earlier crying and then noticed the open window blowing in snowflakes.
He walked over closing the window before making his way over to the crib cooing to her as he picked his 2 month old daughter up and rocked her back to sleep. "Aww, Papa forgot to close the window and you got cold didn't you? Don't worry, I'm here."
As soon as she fell back asleep he set her back down in her crib and quietly walked out of the room shutting the door behind him with a soft click.

Natalie was 15 now and she was hanging around on a boulder with her best friend Michelle.
"Did you hear the rumor running round?" Michelle asked her.
"No, what is it? Natalie answered.
"Apparently the founders will be showing up to this District. Isn't that exciting."
"Really?"
"Yeah. The last time they showed up was 15 years ago." Michelle said.
That would be something. In the first place they were the people who founded the country and in effect set the rules to suppress the majority of people including the 6s and on the other hand they were the founders.
"You know you really shouldn't be gossiping unless your 100% sure about something."
"Jason!" Natalie complained.
Jason was Natalie's older maternal halfbrother by a couple hundred years, he and his twin brother were born before Natalie's father and their mother fell in love and as Natalie's father stepped up to raise him and their brother their mother and Natalie's father slowly fell in love and married each other.
