"Art you nearly ready,Luke" a warm voice caked from outside ,his grandmother, and him were attending the masquerade ball that the king had organised, and, as his grandmother was a lord married into it by lord Peterson,he was allowed to attend and he was extatic. His Grandfather had given Luke one of his old masquerade masks to adorn to the ball,hopefully to attract someone special while he was there

Luke walked out the door to be greeted by a carriage , Lady Peterson was sitting in waiting for him. "Evening mother" he spoke carefully holding his mask in his hands ,still perplexed by the beauty of it. As soon as he was in ,a whip of the reigns and the horses moved ,hearing them clip clop to the ball was relaxing. "Evening my boy, the mask is beautiful is it not?" "Indeed" "Your grandfath'r was wearing that on the very hour we met, we had concealed ourselves in the evening ,but as it struck eleven ,we removed our masks, and it was love"
"Wow" the auburn haired boy replied , astonished "hopefully i meet someone as valorous as him "I too hope,you find all sorts here ; lords ,Lady's , the princess,even the Prince of thou are lucky" "Really?" Luke spoke ,awe in his voice "Yes!" He's nan replied "but I've heard from other baronesses that That gent is quite reserved, and only cometh out occasionally" "I do wish to see him" "I'm sure you will,my boy,he would love to meet you" the green eyed lady responded ,pulling her mask up to her eyes,motioning her boy to do the same as we approached the castle "Come now" she said as the man opened the carriage door for her ,she continued "raise your mask and the night is yours..." ——————-
As soon as he got out he lost eye of his grandmother, so Luke proceeded to walk around the courtyards of the palace ,taking in the sea of colours and faces around him. it wasn't long till fathers came round to him with eligible daughters introducing themselves,though they were beautiful,constantly unveiling their face as a way to get Luke to like them, it didn't work,his heart was set in meeting the prince.
After countless girls storming off to find other people to woo , a band announced that queen Sharlette and Micheal whickam were coming out of the palace with their children: princesses Bethany , Haley, and , Prince Alexander. Luke was ecstatic to say the least. Everyone made a clear path for the family when they started ti walk out of the palaces gates, trumpettes hooted and everyone bowed in unison , Lady Peterson grabbing his sons hand just in time. Though you could not see them at fort as you were bowing ,just the silk you saw on the floor from the kings trail and the click of heels from the princesses ,you could tell they were regal.
"Arise ,faithful,barons,baroness, lords and lady's!" A booming voice called ,we all obliged and rose our heads ,the king wore a full face valto in rich purples and silvers ,matching his wife's Columbia and gown, while the two sisters adorned pire silver masks, and just behind them you could barely catch a glimpse of the son , just a lean pehen feather emerging from his hat.
"We welcome you all to put annual masquerade!" He finished ,letting his wife carry on,holding her free hand "This year marks the first year that princess Bethany attends the ball, she is only 9 ,so feel free to introduce yourself when she is beside ourselves or princess Haley." "With that aside " they said In unison "let the sea of colours ,shapes and jewels wash over you,and let the masquerade commence!" With a hearty roar of glasses clink! Omg together people started to move towards the royal couple ,just as the golden eyed boy was about to to pay his respects, a hand grasped his harm "go meet him" the auburn haired lady said ,her smile poking through her mask.
Luke made his way to the line of people waiting to greet the king and queen and wish their daughters first ball well. He thought it was best to go through the night without trying to follow the Prince ,as it would look wrong ,and that he was desperate (which he was 🥰🤭) so this is why he went here first. When he got to them ,he made sure his mask was aligned with his eyes and bowed politely and spoke:

We must know your name after being so hospitable to put daughter" king Micheal smiled "Ah! I am grandson of Lady Peterson. I believe the queen has spoken to her in previous masquerades?" I spoke ,slightly nervous , I could feel a pair in eyes on me ,but j don't know whos... "Ah yes ! Lady Peterson and I are close ! I love it when she attends these annual balls! I must find her after and tell her what a fine boy she has! " she smiled ,you could see her rouge lipstick below her mask "Thank you Madame" I sighed. "You are very welcome, you may be excused now" she spoke nodding her head. And with that I vanished ,still feeling the pair of eyes on me ,I didn't dare look back though,who knows who it could've been.
