The battle raged on from the moment it started and Koda went in full force with his fight with Wren. The siren who was trying to use her ability to distract the wolves. Koda used his blue aura blades to fight her head on.
"You killed my brother." Wren stared down Koda, wiping some blood from her mouth.
"I'm going to kill you too." Koda smirked and twisted his blade in his hand.
Wren charged forward with a scream, pulling a blade out of a holster on her thigh. Koda braced for impact and let her make contact with him. Her blade nipped his check and caused some blood to pour down his face. Koda swung one of his blades to deflect her next attack. The sound of metal clashing echoed in his ears. He was too focused on the fight in front of him to notice the others around him.
After a few more times of their blade connecting with every strike they took a step back from each to regain their composure.
That break was all Wren needed.
She began to sing her siren song and the wolves started to howl in agony.
Koda quickly rushed towards her and tackled her to the ground, stopping her singing.
"What are you doing to them?" Koda demanded with a blade to her neck.
"My song makes those mutts see their worst fears come to life." Wren smirked and pressed herself closer to the blade. "You wanna see?"
"You don't know my worst fear." Koda growled.
"It has something to do with a red head." Wren laughed at the expression that flashed across Kodas face.
"Shut up." Koda pressed the blade harder into her neck.
"You first." Wren moved swiftly and struck her knife into Kodas side.
It was intense pain that clouded his vision for a moment but thankful her knife was small and she missed his lungs. With an annoyed grunt he harshly pulled his blade across her neck. Her expression changed to shock as her blood splattered onto Koda. He watched as the life faded from her eyes before he raised himself off of her.
He hissed as he pulled her blade from his side and put pressure to the wound. He muttered a healing spell as he did so and looked around the fight before him. They were winning. The newborns were putting up a fight but it was clear that they lacked the experience.
"Are you okay?" Jasper's voice snapped him out of his trance. "I can smell your blood. It's not safe for you here."
"I'll be fine. The spell is almost done." Koda explained as he continued to mumble the spell under his breath.
"Koda please. Leave the battlefield." Jasper pleaded, his eyes watching the fighting going on around them closely.
""I'm not leaving you." Koda locked his eyes on Jaspers and stood his ground. He could still fight. He could still be of use when it came to Olive's gift. They needed him and he wasn't about to leave. He wouldn't leave. He would never leave Jasper.
Jasper sighed and quickly shrugged off his jacket.
"Put this on you stubborn mule." Jasper smiled as he said it and handed his jacket off to Koda. The raven haired man didn't say anything as he clipped the material on.
A scream rippled through the battlefield that made everyone drop to their knees and cover their ears.
Olive had arrived.
With her was a fresh bunch of newborns.
Koda quickly waved his hand at Jasper and said two words in an old language. In an instant Jasper was back on his feet and immune to the sound of the banshee scream. Jasper left Koda to join back into the fight while Koda worked to mass produce his spell for everyone. It took time and concentration and by the time he was done he was exhausted but everyone was protected.
He fell to his knees and wiped the sweat from his face as he watched Jasper. The blonde was doing everything in his power to reach Olive but newborns were now all focused on him. Olive had temporarily disappeared from the fight and Koda did a mad sweep of the area with his eyes to try and find her.
"Hello witch." Olive was standing behind and before he could turn around Olive kicked him. He flew forward and had to use a spell to break his fall, but he still hit the ground hard and with a thud. "I see you killed my siren."
"She made it easy." Koda smirked as he slowly rose back up to his feet with his blades appearing in his hands.
"She was the cheapest." Olive shrugged. "Tell me witch. Where is the redhead?"
"Don't know any." Koda shrugged and twirled his blade.
"I smell her on you." Olive's smirk grew into a smile when Kodas expression faltered. Willow's scent was on both his and Jasper's clothes because of their own foolish mistakes earlier.
"Like I said, I don't know any redheads."
"Fine. Have it your way." Olive charged forward and koda was too slow to move out of the way. She tackled him to the ground with her hand wrapped around his neck and his blade sticking out of her shoulder. "That hurt." She grumbled as she used her free hand to pull the blade out.
"Serves you right bitch." Koda laughed even though he was losing air from her hand around his neck.
"Tell me where she is and I'll let you live." Olive squeezed his neck making him choke just slightly but still had room to breathe.
"Kill me." Koda spat.
"Not yet. You will tell me." She released his neck and grabbed his arm and squeezed until the bone snapped. Koda split his lip holding in his scream as tears leaked from his eyes. The pain was enough to make his chest tighten and his ears to ring.
"You're a brave little witch." Olive used her thumb to wipe a tear away from Kodas cheek and expression turned to that of fake concern.
"Fuck you." Koda said through grit teeth.
Olive looked like she was about to speak again but this time the wind blew in from the east. Koda could see the exact moment that it happened.
"I've found her." Olive quickly rose leaving Koda on the ground.
Koda watched in horror as she moved towards the barrier. Quickly he threw his good hand and muttered a spell stopping her in her tracks.
"Clever little witch." Olive turned back to look at him when her feet wouldn't move.
Koda didn't have time to brace for it. Olive directed her banshee scream at him and with all his concentration on the spell holding her in place he couldn't defend himself. He screamed as his ears began to bleed. The scream made his concentration break and she was released from his spell.
Koda was left alone on the ground in agony. Unable to do anything to stop the danger heading towards Willow.
"Jasper! JASPER!" Koda screamed at the top of his lungs, hoping that he would be heard.
"Koda." Jasper was beside him in an instant. "Koda baby." Jasper was trying to survey the damage. "Talk to me, are you okay?"
"You have to go. Go to the barrier. She found WIllow." Koda used his good hand to push against Jasper in an attempt to get him to move. Jasper's eyes turned dark and his expression fell into the most serious that Koda had ever seen.
"Rosalie!" Jasper yelled and she appeared before him. "Stay with him."
"Save her, Jasper." Koda held his hand out to give Jaspers a squeeze. Jasper gave him a nod before he took off in the direction of the barrier.
"Come on. Let's get you off the battlefield." Rosalie muttered as she picked him up in her arms and carried him to the jeep that was parked nearby. Koda was so exhausted that he passed out in her arms before they even made it three steps.
