So here we are, sitting in silence. I am just so pathetic.  I can't even thank Aiden for giving me ride.  But then again, he did get me wet.  I think to myself.

"Don't think too hard.  You might blow a gasket or something." Aiden says out of nowhere.

I jump, afraid of the sound that penetrated the silence.

"How did you know that I was thinking?"

"You got a sort of constipated look on your face."

He chuckles to himself, and as soon as we stop, I punch him in the arm.

"OW!"

"Well serves you right.  Never make fun of a girl who is stronger than you."

"Oh wow.  You are just such a girl."

"Why thank you."

I turn up the volume to the stereo and hear rap.

"Aiden?" I whisper to myself.

"Yes, that would be my name.  Please don't wear it out.  I'm very fond of it."

"Aren't you such a clown? I said your name like that because I was in disbelief that you listened to rap.  You do not look like a rap person."

"Isn't there a saying that goes 'Don't judge a book by its cover?'"

"Yes."

After that, we stayed quiet until we were parked in his driveway. We were technically neighbors.  He lived just a few houses down from mine.  I grab my stuff and leave for my house.  Once I get inside, I head immediately to the fridge.  There's nothing there so I head to the lazy susan and grab candy.  I head up to my room to try to get over this week.  I'm not even sure if I could handle that 2+2=4.

Take a breather, I tell myself.

I turn on Itunes and this is what I hear:

 Don’t know

Don’t know if I can do this on my own

Why do you have to leave me?

It seems that I’m losing something deep inside.

Everybody Hurts by Avril Lavigne. What a great song choice Itunes.  Thanks for making my day even worse.  I truly appreciate it.  You know what? I'm just going to send Apple a complaint.

"I dont' understand how all of this possible. Please help me Holly."

"Don't worry. I'm always right here with you."  I hear my sister's voice say.

I'm speechelss.  Did my sister just talk to me?

"Don't be afraid.  Don't follow my footsteps either.  Stop looking for the answers."

"Why? You're my sister, and I love you. How do you expect me not to look for the answers?"

"How do I tell you this? I was. . .I got in trouble by some very persuasive people.  Nevermind who either."

"But--"

"Honey, can you come down here?" my mother calls from downstairs.

"Which one?" I call back and realize my mistake.

There was no more which one.  My heart crumbles a little more before I decide to head downstairs.  I go downstairs and find my mother teary-eyed.

"I'm sorry Mom.  I just forgot she was gone."

"It's alright honey," she barely manages to say.

"So what is it that you wanted?"

"Aiden.  He said to tell you to stay inside and something else.  I just can't remember. Sorry."

She turns away from me, and as I watch her leave, I see her wipe her eyes.
