JJ struggled to get the door to the patio open and saw his dad sitting there working on his bike.
"I've been staying at John B's," JJ said.
Luke didn't look at him, "I didn't ask you where you were stayin'. I don't care." He stands to grab a different tool, "I knew you'd get hungry."
JJ sighs, "That's not why I came back, Dad."
"Mm-hmm."
"I got the money."
"Yeah, I'll believe that when I see it."
JJ drops the bag on the table.
"Huh." Luke picks it up and opens it.
"It's all there. 25k."
Luke looks at the money and laughs. "I don't know how you got this. I- I don't even wanna know. You did it."
JJ laughs and flips his hat.
"I'll grant you that. You did it. There's beer in the cooler."
JJ goes to grab one.
Luke stands up, "I think that sale's still on at Guffy's of Makos. They're practically given 'em away."
JJ's smile falls.
Luke looks at the newspaper, "Yep."
"Dad that's for the restitution."
"Nice... we're gonna tap that..."
"Dad."
"Put a little more in."
"Dad. Can you just please do the right thing for once, okay?"
"You know how much you cost me, you little shit? This nut? It ain't going to the cops. No." He puts it into a canister. "I'm gonna take it south. I'm gonna triple it-"
"Dad!"
"You got somethin' to say? After everything you've done? You wanna get into it? I didn't think so. Man, people keep wastin' my time. I gotta fix this motor."
JJ sees the canister and grabs it. Luke rushes at him to stop him from running.
Luke hits JJ a few times, making him fall to the ground. JJ feels the blood falling down his nose.
"Boy, you stay down there."
JJ gets up and hits his dad back, yelling as he does so. They start to go back and forth, grunting and yelling as they fight.
JJ knees his dad in the side and gets him off. Luke trips JJ making him fall.
"Get up!"
