Words: 1453
We found a cave in the middle of the icy weather. I had no idea how we were going to make it back and/or how we were going to sail this boy all the way to the fire nation, like zuko wanted. We didn't even have a ship. What were we going to do to steal the fluffy monster Zuko told me they were traveling on?
"If you have something to say, say it '' Zuko snapped, finally looking over the fire to me. I didn't want to say anything, I wasn't really supposed to be here, and besides he was the only one keeping me from being back at the water tribe with my "Soon to be husband" or dead. I looked over at him as I didn't want to say anything too bad since he is the fire prince and could also kill me at any time. I simply just shook my head.
"I'm just thinking"
"Oh" he looked at Aang who was peacefully laying down in the corner "but i know what you want to say" he said holding his knees closer to him. "You want to say that i should have planned things out, and that I shouldn't have come her at all"
"I wasn't going to say that"
"The avatar reminds me of my sister" he starts ranting "everything always comes perfectly to her. My father said she was born lucky, he said i was lucky to be born" i slightly felt bad for him. I knew that his parents hadn't been very good to him if they had banished him. What parent does that?
"My parents think I'm useless too.. But I guess it's a custom of the water tribe to make your daughter look weak "I sat beside him, slightly looking up at him. His scar was facing me. "I ran away because I had no other choice. It was death or my freedom"
"Your freedom?" he looked confusedly at me
"There's no honor in being a housewife, especially if you didn't choose the person you would live with" I cling to my knees "I was in an arranged marriage, my parents told me I would have honor but I don't like honor that much to want to be put into a living hell"
"So I guess it's a slightly similar situation then," he explained looking at me. "I want my honor back, I've lost it all, I've lost my father, my kingdom and all I have is this stupid scar." He looked angry. Now I didn't really blame him.
"If i hadn't left i would have lost my dignity and my independence" i said looking at the ground "i wanted both"
"Oh.." we sat in silence for a much longer time
The boy's tattoos suddenly stopped glowing and I saw the look of confusion written all over his face.
"Welcome back" Zuko said in a gruff harsh voice
"Good to be back" the boy said before blowing a very strong gust of air at him, but I grabbed him.
"That's not enough to save you" Zuko said behind me and I trapped the boy in ice. That's when I saw the white fluffy animal come towards us.
"Is that.. A bison?!" I asked , looking more in awe than angry.
"We have to keep hold of the Avatar" he growled out "focus!"
"Sorry" I said , putting my hands in the offensive position. I threw the snow at them. Reminded me of when we were children when we threw snowballs. The bison landed and the water tribe girl from earlier jumped from the creature she threw water and ice at us. There was a boy on the bison who threw a boomerang at me and before I knew it my head was pounding and I was laying on the ground.
"We have to go" the avatar started to head towards the bison. "No we can't just leave them" he ran over Zuko and grabbed him
"Oh yeah let's take the crazy Firebender and his girlfriend along, '' the boomerang boy said. I smirked at his remark before being grabbed by the girl in my hands.
"If you make any sudden movements I'll knock you completely out like him" she whispered in my ear and i slightly nodded
"Ow!" I screamed as my head felt like it was shattered into a million pieces. I was put on the bison and they flew off.
"Aren't you a Waterbender?" one of the boys asked me but i couldn't tell which one and the girl that had taken me was guiding the beast.
"Yeah," I said quietly. I was beside Zuko who was completely knocked "you have great aim with that boomerang" i complimented taking come water from my pouch. They all got defensive until I wrapped it around my hand and started to heal my head. "Sorry for the scare" I smirked as they slightly sighed in relief.
"Why are you with him anyways?" The avatar looked at me curiously as I put the water back in my pouch.
"It's a mutual need" was the only thing i was willing to admit "i need to run away from my home and he needs to get back to his" i smirked
"Really?" Katara looked slightly curious now as well "but what are you running away from"
"Hell" I shrugged before putting my hair up. Suddenly the sky turned red.
"I feel faint" I realized the princess was on board here. She explained the story that I knew too well about how she owes the moon spirit her life and she started talking about how she had been weak at birth. I looked over to Zuko and stroked his hair out of my face.
Suddenly we stopped at the oasis where we found the avatar first. I stayed up in the bison. I had to find a place to get Zuko to safety and I'm sure I didn't want to ruin this moment. He could handle it himself.
"Zhao, don't" the avatar declared
"I will kill the moon" Zhao declared putting a knife up to the bag threatening it
"Destroying the moon won't just hurt the Watertribe it will hurt everyone.. Including you" The avatar convinced "without the moon everything will fall out of balance you have no idea what kind of chaos that would unleash on the world- '' suddenly i collapsed a great pain took me and i fainted not hearing the rest of what anyone had to say.
When I woke up I was laying on one of the water tribes walls as was Zuko. He was awake watching something. He randomly jumped up and over the wall towards a human I knew too well. Zhao.
"You tried to have me killed!" Zuko said and they started talking and arguing but I was too busy watching Aang transform into a large water creature. It startled me to see how much power that little boy actually had. I heard fire from the two below me and I jumped down to look at them a bit better as the monster that was Aang attacked the ships and boats down shore.
Suddenly the dullness upon the world came back to be a blue tint. I looked as the moon showed brightly.
A bright beast similar to the one Aang grabbed Zhao from the platform. I saw Zuko go to help him but apparently Zhao was too stupid to grab his hand because he didn't like his help. I looked at Zuko who slowly walked back to me.
"He's gone" he said in almost a whisper "we should find Uncle" he said as we walked from the city to the boats one was a smaller boat and we found him. Zuko looked more tired than I thought he would be.
"Zuko.. are you okay?" i asked looking into his amber eyes as they were sort of dull
"Yes let's get out of here" I nodded at his request and we went to Uncle who helped us onto a smaller boat so we could leave the city for good.
"Hopefully I'll never have to see this confusing place again" i said sitting down beside Zuko
"I think the northern water tribe is a beautiful place" Iroh looked at me curiously "what happened here though?"
"I'll tell you later General Iroh"
"Please" he chuckled, "call me Iroh or Uncle Iroh" I nodded with a small smile on my face as I looked at him.
"Alright"
"I'm tired" Zuko started taking his head in his hand. I slightly nodded and sat closer to Iroh so he could lay down.
"Then rest" Iroh advised "a man needs his rest" Zuko nodded and laid onto the boat.
