Murtagh watched as the enormous black dragon took flight, carrying its rider away. She didn't fly towards the elves, nor did she fly in the direction of the Varden... it almost seemed as if they were flying towards the desert.
His heart hammered.
"Alive! She's alive!"
He recalled his exhausted thoughts from their kidnapping, where he had prayed and hoped that she would be able to be free.
"Thorn, her words are different," he said. "She usually calls me 'da'len', but this time she called me 'da'vhenan'... I wish she'd taught me more of the language."
"Beyond the curses and suledin?" Thorn watched the other dragon. "Her dragon... her name is Fang?"
"Yes," Murtagh turned back to Thorn as the Eldunari woke up. "How are you feeling? Are there any wounds you still need me to check?"
"No, she has healed me completely," Thorn said.
"I suppose we'll need to check with Galbatorix if he can help with your injury," Murtagh grimaced. "After all, we're not just dealing with Eragon and Saphira anymore. As much as I thought I knew about Fallyn, there's more I don't know. She's a huge threat to us, especially if she's going to appear as if riding a storm."
"STORMRIDER!"
Murtagh flinched as the Eldunari all cried out at once - Stormrider, Stormrider...
"Fallyn Stormrider," Murtagh looked at the vanishing black speck as he and Thorn took to the sky. "I don't want to fight you. I suspect a battle between us would not end well for me."
