I'm not hungry
I am currently experiencing a lack of appetite. Today seemed like any other day, except for the fact that I am currently at Luis's bakery instead of having breakfast with my family. While I am not particularly upset with Luis for taking a much-needed break, his physical appearance is telling of how exhausted he is. Bags under his eyes, shaky hands, and slowed movements all indicate a clear need for rest. While I can empathize with his situation, I try to push it to the back of my mind and continue to go about my day as usual. It would be strange for Luis not to be at the bakery, so I decided to shapeshift into his form to avoid drawing attention to his absence.
"Camilo, what are you doing here?" Luis jokingly inquires about my presence there,
"Was it that easy to tell it wasn't Luis?" Camilo humors him by playing along with the joke.
"Yes, you got my makeup wrong," Luis says smiling
After a few moments, I shift back to my original form and notice that Luis appears well-rested.
"The miracles of what sleep will do to you, Luis"
"You should try it sometime Camilo maybe then you'll get these miracles as well"
Camilo rolled his eyes at Luis but I can't help but feel a nagging sense of unease.
Why hasn't anyone been looking for me? Or check to make sure that I was ok?
Camilo hated thinking like this, acting as if he hadn't had a family that didn't love him or care for him, he know they love him, well at the bare minimum thinks they love him.
"Camilo, you okay?" Luis picks up on my change in demeanor and asks if I am alright.
"I'm fine Luis, just thinking business is slow today is it not?" Camilo tries to brush off his concern and change the subject,
Luis frowned when Camilo changed the subject just ignoring Luis's being concerned for him. Camilo did this a lot spacing out or just looking at nothing when Luis asked about this Camilo denied all of it. Camilo also always denied any negative feelings it didn't matter how many times Luis told Camilo it was normal to feel this way. Camilo ignored all of it, Luis hated how stubborn Camilo was to prove that he was fine, It reminded Luis a lot about himself. Suddenly, the bell rings and my Tia enters the shop. She is visibly relieved to find me safe and sound, and I apologize for not leaving a note. We exchange pleasantries and share a few laughs, but my Tia quickly notices Luis's appearance and comments on it. Again, we share a chuckle, but the one thing that still hasn't changed is my lack of appetite. Despite lying and saying that I have already eaten, the truth is that I still feel no hunger.
"Why didn't you listen to me when I told you not to open the shop with your earbuds on?" Camilo asked reading Luis's mind.
"Why don't you open up to me when I ask what's wrong," Luis asked back his tone my serious than before, Luis always reminds me that it's okay to feel negative emotions.
"You are so difficult," Camilo told Luis before sighing.
"Guess I could say the same about you"
Camilo rolled his eyes at this they could've gone back and forth, with both of them being too stubborn to open up about their feelings. That was until they heard the bell ring.
"Camilo, we were worried sick just to find out you're talking to Luis?"
"Sorry Tia, I should've left a note."
Camilo said trying to please his Tia, It worked her face softened smiling at Camilo instead of being mad at him. She noticed Luis leaning on the counter that Camilo was behind, she also noticed a light blush on Luis's face.
"Luis, do you have a fever?"
"No ma'am, if I had one it's gone now."
"Ma'am? Camilo lean lessons from Luis he could teach you a thing or two on manners."
"He's only like this when adults are around I promise you, Tia, sometimes he's more childish than me which I didn't know was possible."
"Are you gonna lie to your Tia like that Camilo? If anything you're like a dog on a leash crazy and unpredictable." Camilo gasped at the response putting a hand over his chest as he dramatically falls into a chair.
"How doth thee sayeth such cullionly things without humor lacking valor?" Camilo says breaking out into Shakespeare a hand over his forehead covering up his eyes earning a laugh from his Tia and Luis.
"Camilo, have you eaten anything?"
"Yes, Tia I have" Camilo lied he hasn't had anything after his date with Meto.
Still, I'm not hungry
