Also, I'm aware that say chapter 15 that is done on purpose.
-Tell me if I miss something :D-
I think today might be terrible.
Luis woke up feeling uneasy about how his day would go. He tried to shake off the unsettling feeling, but it persisted. As he opened up his shop and began preparing food, he had his earbuds in, trying to tune out the world. Thursdays were not his usual day to open, especially not this early. He only opened it because his neighbor's daughter was having a birthday party and had asked him to make the cake for her, even if Luis doesn't make the cake, he still did it. The doorbell rang, and the door creaked open. Luis sighed, already anticipating who was coming in. He turned around to see Camilo, the person who had taken his heart and crushed it without realizing the damage he had caused.
"Hello, Camilo. What brings you here today? Can I help you with anything?"
Luis asked, trying to remain calm. He looked up to see Camilo talking animatedly with his hands. Luis couldn't understand what Camilo was saying, so he just nodded until Camilo stopped speaking. As Camilo's voice faded, Luis worried that he may have accidentally offended him. He took out his earbuds and furrowed his brow, unable to hear Camilo.
"I knew you weren't listening, Luis. You need to take this conversation seriously," Camilo said, sounding somewhat playful
."That's the fun of talking to you. I have no idea what you're saying, but I get to hear your voice. It's like there's nothing else in the world except you, me, and the cat who kills mice living in my shop rent-free," Luis replied, trying to lighten the mood.
"I guess you've avoided a scolding. Anyway, why aren't you at home? It's Thursday," Camilo asked."
Damn it, Camilo.
It's Friday, Oh no, I made a lot of food," Luis pretended to be clueless. He refused to let Camilo get the best of him.
"Are you sure? I'm pretty sure you have a calendar somewhere. Don't you cross out each day that passes?"
Camilo asked Luis, looking for any sign of dishonesty. Luis's heart raced, his cheeks turned red, and he had to compose himself. Camilo was in love with someone else, and Luis had to accept that.
"Camilo, I do have a calendar. Also, would you like some food? I think I'll wait until later to open," Luis said, sighing in defeat. He knew that if he denied having a calendar, Camilo would persist, even if Luis didn't have one. Camilo would attribute it to his phone or some other factor.
"I would appreciate some food, Luis, if it's not too much trouble." Luis packed the bags, and as he handed them over to Camilo, he noticed that Camilo's eyes were red and puffy. He wondered if Camilo had been crying.
"Do you think I would offer if I didn't want you to have some?" Luis retorted, smiling at Camilo as he packed the bags. He tried to hurry the process because the sooner he could get Camilo to leave, the better. His face grew redder by the minute.
"Relax, Luis. I don't want you to mess up my food, my Famila's gonna eat too" Camilo teased, causing Luis's face to turn even redder.
"Stop it. This is just a teenage crush."
"Okay. Here you go, Camilo. Have a nice day, and I'll see you soon," Luis said, pushing the bags into Camilo's hands and urging him out the door. Camilo dropped the bags on the ground and turned into a child, causing Luis to almost trip over him, before returning to his normal form.
"Luis, what's the rush? Let's hang out and grab some food. I know a great thrift store, and then we can go to the art shop. I know how much you love drawing. You can't deny it. I've seen you drawing and even painting in the bakery before opening," Camilo suggested. Luis's blushing had subsided somewhat, but after that comment, he lost his composure. He was as red as a tomato.
"Okay, let's go. You lead the way, Camilo. I'll do what I need to do later, you know, work," Luis said, sighing.
"I'll pay you if you go out with me," Camilo grinned. Luis knew how much Camilo wanted this. However, the way he said it sounded wrong. If he refused, he would hurt Camilo's feelings. If he agreed, Camilo would hurt Luis's fragile, aching heart. But let's face it.
"Why do I need a heart when Camilo has my heart shackled, practically strangling it?"
"Sure, Camilo. Let's go out," Luis said, smiling.
I was right. Today was going to be terrible
