I was right that this year is going to suck for me. The Dementors were placed all around the castle for our 'protection.' I think this is a stupid idea from the ministry and a power play by them too. But Dumbledore is also letting them do this.

Dumbledore doesn't have to let the ministry do anything regarding the school. Of course, they're repercussions for denying the ministry, but Dumbledore has faced those repercussions before, and that's what makes him a good headmaster. Or it did. Now, he only cares about ensuring Harry does what Dumbledore thinks he needs to do, which isn't always the best for Harry and his friends.

That's why I try to protect them even though they hate me just because of what Dumbledore excused my father of and that I'm a Slytherin. But I don't care. I'm fine with my name not even being mentioned in the history books. All I want is for the people I care about to be safe, even if they don't wish to same for me. Those people are Harry, by extension, the Weasley family, and Hermione, my father, and by extension, Remus Lupin, our DADA professor, Draco Malfoy, Blaise Zabini, and Theodore Nott.

I want to keep Draco, Blaise, and Theodore safe because they're in a situation they shouldn't be in. Draco's family was a death eater. Blaise might be used as bait to get Draco to join. And Theodore, whose father is also a death eater, abuses him.

We all had to spend the night in the great hall because Sirius had entered the Gryffindor boy's dorm. Pacifically, Harry's dorm. Everyone thinks he's after Harry, but he's not. Ron's rat is actually Peter Pettigrew. And I guess Sirius recognized him from the paper that I sent him weekly.

I know Peter is the rat because I've got my own map, like the one the Marauders. Only my can show me any place I want. It shows me all of the passages ways that everyone might have forgotten. I made it after finding Salazar's chamber.

And on that map, I saw the name Peter Pettigrew sleeping with Ron. I was confused at first, but after a bit of digging, I found out he was a Marauder, and knowing that all of the marauders became animagus for Remus, I figured out that he was the rat Ron's family had for years. 12, I think, is the exact amount of time Ron has had Scrabbers.

It's near the end of the school year, and much to my disappointment, Sirius never tried to contact me. I hope it's because he thinks I hate him because of what he's been accused of, but you can never be sure. And I don't want to get my hopes up.

I was looking at my map when I saw Ron being dragged but Sirius. Ron had Peter in the form of Scrappers with him, so I think Sirius was trying to Peter from Ron, and Ron wasn't letting him. Not that I blame him. Sirius dog can look mean.

I rushed there with my vampire speed and got past the wimping widow with no problem. I walked up the house, which was the Shrieking Shack. As I neared the room where everything was happening, I was met with Peter trying to run away.

I grabbed Peter and looked at him for a second. I could smell his blood, and it's been a while since I had blood. I quickly calmed myself before throwing Peter into the room where everyone was.

When I entered the room, I saw Sirius looking crazy. Remus was also there. And on the bed, across from the two men, were Ron, who was on the bed next to Hermione, and Harry. He was standing next to them.

I was again hit with the smell of blood, but this time it was much harder to control. Ron appeared to have a wound on his leg that was bleeding profusely. I stared at it before turning my attention to the other occupants in the room.

Before I could get too focused on Remus and Sirius trying to catch Pettegrew, I heard footsteps coming behind me. I recognized them as the head of my house, Snap. Moving to the side, I watched Snap act like he would turn Sirius in. I quickly got annoyed at him, so I punched him, which knocked him out.

I almost jumped before I turned to look at everyone else in the room. Seeing they were all looking at me, I watched Peter try to get away before I said, "You don't want to do that." I had no emotions in my voice.

He paused, and everyone turned their attention to him.

     "And why is that?"

He was shaking. "Because knocking you out won't be the only thing I'll do if I ever see you again. Do you want me to find you again, or will you come with us easily?"

Peter, finally finding his brain, walked with us. Sirius was holding him, and after I splashed some water on Snap with a simple spell, was walking with us too. Remus had but the Confundus Charm on him. We walked out of the hole and onto Hogwarts ground.

I was walking next to my dad when we were in a circle, asking what we should do. That's when I noticed Remus's werewolf smell was getting stronger.

"Professor Lupin, did you take your potion tonight?"

I watched his eyes widen and knew he did not take his potion. I was about to walk up to him when Snap stood in front of all of us. I knew he didn't have a wand, so I was surprised a little to see him guarding us from the werewolf. It didn't matter because I quickly whistled to get Remus's attention while telling someone to go after Peter.

Remus followed me like I knew he would. I ran till I saw a rock I could stand on before I allowed my eyes to show. My eyes turned red, and I watched the werewolf falter on what he should do.

I put my hand out to show him I mean no harm while crouching down. I should be able to get his mind back because werewolves and vampires have a deep history that no one knows about. And vampires can cause the same effect as the wolfbane potion.

His head touched my hand, and I managed to calm him down and give him his mind back before Sirius came around the corner, ready to attack Lupin. I decided to intervene quickly and got bit by Sirius to protect Remus.

"Fuck," was all I said. It was quiet, as I was more focused on getting out of here as I knew if any human came here, I would go into a bloodthirst or try to change Sirius back to his human form because you can't hide from a vampire, no matter what.

I staggered a little before standing up and quickly walking away. Once no one could see me, I ran into the forest, where I drank blood from the other animals before returning to my dorm. Ready to sleep off the night, but before I did, I thought about how to clear Sirius's name.
