Y/N POV
Heading inside the village we see a relatively small population. Heading to the largest tent we take a seat. Pretty soon a man in a decorative headdress enters taking a seat in front of us.
Man: "Are you the Huntsmen I requested?"
Ruby: "Yes sir. You must be chief Redford."
Redford: "I am."
Yang: "So what is it you want us to do?"
Redford: "Three days ago my darling daughter set out to collect roots for our medicine. But she has yet to return."
Blake: "You have any idea where she might be?"
He snaps his fingers. He's handed a rolled up sheet of paper. He then hands it to us allowing us to look it over.
Redford: "Only six short hours ago I was handed this letter. Turns out a rival village kidnapped her and plans to use her as ransom."
Y/N: "That's messed up."
Redford: "Head to the village and bring my daughter back. Do this and I shall pay you greatly."
We all stand up.
Ruby: "Have no fear chief Redford. With us on the case, your daughter is as good as rescued."
We leave the village heading to our destination. After an hour or so we come to a waterfall. We take this moment to rest.
Yang: "We almost there?"
Ruby: "The map shows we're at least another hour out."
Weiss: "Had I known we'd be walking this long I wouldn't have worn heels."
Blake: "And this humidity is killer. Wish I picked a better outf-"
Something hits her neck knocking her out. The others are knocked with me being last. When I awaken I hear loud noises. My senses come back allowing me to register what's going on.
Y/N: "This, isn't good."
A man in war paint comes in holding a torch. He comes near me. He then looks at other similarly painted people.
Man: "Chief Redford is a fool for thinking he could send people to stop us."
They all cheer. Meanwhile the man brings the torch close to the wood stacked under me.
Man: "Any last words?"
Y/N: "Please don't do this?"
He only narrows his eyes. The torch comes within a hair width from the wood. But by the grace of Oum a voice is heard.
Voice: "Hold it."
I look seeing an elderly woman walking to me. She stands between me and the man.
Man: "What is it Ingrid?"
She leans down.
Ingrid: "Why are you here?"
Y/N: "I was tasked with saving chief Redford's daughter."
Ingrid: "You see yourself as a hero?"
Y/N: "That depends how you define a hero. If it means helping people with whatever they need, then yeah, I'd say I'm a hero."
She smiles standing back up.
Ingrid: "Untie him and bring him to my tent."
I'm freed and escorted to Ingrid's tent.
Ingrid: "You wish to save Redford's daughter, is that correct?"
Y/N: "Yes mam."
Ingrid: "Unlike my grandson here."
I look at the man to see him pout.
Ingrid: "I embrace the saying, ask then shoot."
I feel some sense of ease.
Ingrid: "I will happily return her."
I smile.
Ingrid: "But I cannot do so without receiving something in return."
Y/N: "What is it you want?"
Ingrid: "A while back my youngest granddaughter was out wandering in the woods. While doing so she accidently ate a poisonous plant. We tried everything but nothing seems to heal her. We managed to keep her stable with a paralysis semblance. But it's gotten to the point where if we don't do something now then she'll die. If that were to happen then I don't know what I'd do."
