Last Leg

Y/N POV

My eyes slowly open revealing a white room.

Y/N: "I really gotta stop waking up in hospitals."

I try to sit up only to feel immense pain in my chest. I fall back onto the bed panting. 

Y/N: "Right, forgot I got impaled."

I sigh as the pain begins to fade. The door then opens.

Doctor: "Glad to see you awake."

 Y/N: "So how bad was it?"

He looks at a clipboard.

Doctor: "The spear missed your heart by a quarter inch. Your right lung took a hit getting sliced open. But other than that, you're a lucky boy. Is your semblance luck perhaps?"

Y/N: "That'd be awesome. If I had a semblance."

*timeskip*

Having been cleared I make my way to the address the nurse gave me. Knocking on the door I have a woman answer.

Woman: "May I help you?"

Y/N: "Yes mam. Looking for Ruby Rose."

The door closes. A couple seconds later she appears. In a flash she hugs me tightly. This make my body scream in utter agony.

Y/N: *in utter pain* "Ruby... body's still... healing."

She lets go looking me over.

Ruby: "It's so good to see you."

She opens the door.

Ruby: "Come on in."

I walk inside. Then going to the living room I see the others.

Y/N: "Hey guys."

Upon looking at me they smile. But Nora zips to me. And unlike Ruby she gently hugs me.

Nora: "Thank Oum you're okay."

She lets go.

Jaune: "So how do you feel?"

Y/N: "Dirty. So if you don't mind I'm gonna go take a nice hot shower."

I head to the bathroom discarding my clothes. Now nude I dive head first into the scolding hot water.

3rd POV

As Y/N revels in the warm water the others talk amongst each other.

Nora: "So what's the plan guys?"

Ruby: "Well since Y/N's back on his feet, we can continue with our mission to Haven."

Jaune: "Too bad we're still a week away."

Ren: "Maybe not."

Ruby: "What're you thinking?"

Ren: "We can take an airship."

They show shock.

Jaune: "We can?"

Li: "Yeah. I have a friend who can pick you kids up. All you gotta do is tell me when you kids wanna leave."

Nora: "When would we leave?"

Ruby: "Tomorrow. At first light."

Y/N: "What're you guys talking about?"

Jaune: "We're leaving for Haven at first light tomorrow."

Y/N: "How?"

Ruby: "Ren's father has a friend who's gonna fly us."

Y/N: "Neat."

*timeskip*

The next morning Ruby enters Y/N's bedroom gently rocking him awake.

Ruby: "Y/N, time to wake up."

He hops out of bed getting dressed. As he gets on a shirt Ruby spots where he was impaled by Cinder. Sadness begins creeping into her.

Ruby: "How's the injury?"

Y/N looks down at his wound.

Y/N: "Better. Some pain when I move. But not to the degree of before."

Ruby: "It really is nothing short of a miracle that you're still alive. Guess that just means Oum has big plans for you."

Y/N: "I hope they're good plans."

Flipping his jacket on they all head outside loading up into an airship. He watches the landscape fly past. Meanwhile he just thinks to himself.

Y/N: "Well, this' it. This' where it all ends. Soon as I get to Haven I'll have to fight whoever it was that told me to go there. I don't know if I'll survive. All I do know is that this is what my life has been leading up to. I can only pray I've prepared myself enough."
