Y/N POV
The bell rings dismissing us. The next day I sit in the classroom of a man who appears as nothing more than a green blur. When he finally does settle he talks at an equally fast pace.
Oobleck: "This was all prior to the commonly known Faunus War. It was at this point in which man deemed it necessary to centralize the Faunus population of Menagerie. Now while this might feel like ancient news, it's imperative to know that these events are actually quite recent. Why the repercussions can still be felt to this very day. On this note, how many of you have been subject to hate because of your Faunus heritage?"
I look around to find quite a few of the students raising their hand. Oobleck sighs sadly.
Oobleck: "This' quite dreadful. Keep in mind students. Ignorance gives birth to violence. Just look at what happened with the White Fang. Now which one of you fine scholars can tell me what the turning point in the third year of the Faunus War was?"
Weiss: "The skirmish at Kilmister's Peak."
Oobleck: "Correct. And what is the advantage the Faunus had over General Lagune and his forces?"
I hold the back of my head as something hits it.
Y/N: "Hey!"
Oobleck: "Thank you for volunteering. What is the answer?"
I become nervous. Peeking slightly over him I see my teammates trying to tell me the answer via charades.
Y/N: "Sight?"
Oobleck: "That is the answer. But you'll need to be more specific. Cardin, care to specify?"
Cardin: "I just know it takes less time to train an animal rather than a human."
Y/N: "Then training you will be a cinch."
Everyone laughs. Meanwhile Cardin explodes red with rage. A couple weeks later we walk through a forest. Meanwhile Ms. Goodwitch leads us.
Goodwitch: "Yes I know the Forever Fall Forest is beautiful, but do try not to get distracted. Your mission here is to gather sap samples. To do this you'll need to go to the trees that're deeper within the forest. At four you're to meet back up here so that we may leave. Good luck."
I break with my teammates to gather my sap. But as my jar fills up I'm yanked away. I'm then shoved onto the ground where a boot is slammed onto my chest.
Cardin: "Well well well boys, looks like we caught ourselves a runt."
I reach for a pouch. But a dagger is driven through my sleeve ceasing my movement.
Cardin: "No you don't."
He swipes my belt along with my sword. After that I'm set on my knees with his men holding out my arms. Meanwhile Cardin smiles looking down at me.
Cardin: "Time you paid runt."
He withdraws his mace. This makes his goons become uncomfortable.
Russel: "Woah Cardin. Isn't that being excessive?"
Cardin: "There's no such thing as excessive."
Without mercy he swings his mace into my ribs. A scream of pain escapes me as nothing but pain consumes my side.
Cardin: "That's right runt, scream. It's only music to my ears."
He swings his mace hitting my other side. This elicits a scream which makes him smile wider. I now wheeze trying to get air into my lungs. Meanwhile Cardin lays his mace on my head. He then raises it above him.
Sky: "What're you doing Cardin?"
Cardin: "Ending him."
Dove: "Why? He's just a kid."
Cardin: "Your point?"
He smiles.
Cardin: "Say goodbye ru-"
He's taken down by a blast to the face. I turn and smile seeing my friends.
Ruby: "Unhand him."
Pyrrha: *aims rifle* "Before we make you."
Wasting no time Cardin's teammates release me. The others rush to me.
Blake: "You okay?"
I smile.
Y/N: "Yeah. Thanks for that."
Nora: "What're friends for?"
