Let's get into it!
Izuku's POV:
Before my trip to Japan, I asked my mother to pick us up from the airport, despite feeling a bit embarrassed about it. I wanted to keep our arrival low-key because I had been keeping my secret child hidden from almost everyone I knew, and I wasn't quite ready to reveal him to the world.
"Hey, Izuku!" I heard someone yell, and I immediately recognized the voice. "Mom!" I exclaimed with a mix of joy and relief. It had been far too long since I'd seen her, and she looked almost unrecognizable. "Oh, sweetheart, how have you been? America seems to have treated you well. Where's that grandson of mine?" I turned to Haru, silently encouraging him to introduce himself. "Hello, ma'am," he smiled warmly, easing my worries. "Oh, honey, you can call me Grandma!" my mom beamed, clearly delighted by his presence.
As our journey continued, Haru fell asleep in the car, exhausted from the long trip. I wanted to let him rest, so we drove in comfortable silence for a while.
"So, Izuku, have you talked with Katsuki?" my mom finally asked, her curiosity getting the better of her.
"Mom!" I blurted out, feeling a flush of embarrassment.
"What? Am I not allowed to ask? Is he unmentionable or something?"
"Of course not, Mom, but... Look, I'm just not ready," I explained gently.
"You're not ready to speak to him or to tell him about your child together?" Her questions were valid, but I wasn't prepared to dive into that conversation just yet.
"...Both. But I will tell him; I'm just not mentally prepared for it, not yet," I replied, hoping for a quick resolution.
"Well, you can't keep it to yourself forever. He has the right to know as well." My mother's insistence on the topic was a bit overwhelming, and I desperately wanted to change the subject.
"I get it, Mom," I said, signaling the end of the conversation, and we continued the drive in silence, grateful that Haru was lost in his own world with his headphones on.
An hour later, we arrived at my childhood home, and I carefully settled Haru into my old bed so he could sleep comfortably. While he rested, I spent some quality time catching up with my mom before deciding to head to my company to check on how things were going.
As I entered the workplace, I was astounded by how much had changed. The place had become more modern and futuristic, with cutting-edge technology everywhere. Navigating through the corridors, I was stopped by a friendly-looking woman with long red hair.
"Excuse me, how can I assist you?" she asked politely, a welcome change from some of the snobbier assistants I'd encountered.
"I'm trying to meet Todoroki," I replied, my smile trying to make up for the lack of an appointment.
"Do you have an appointment?" She inquired, but her tone remained kind and understanding.
"No, but I'm hoping he'll see me anyway," I said, a hint of relief in my voice. It was a pleasant surprise to meet a nice assistant.
"Well, unfortunately, without an appointment, I can't grant you access. However, if you'd like, I can inform him of your presence," she offered, further confirming her helpful nature.
"That would be wonderful," I said, genuinely appreciating her assistance. I couldn't help but consider stealing her from Shoto.
"Okay, may I have your name, please, so I can announce your arrival to him?"
