when he reaches home after a night out with his friends, he finds the lights dim and soft jazz music playing. he looks up at the wall clock to see it read 2:34 a.m. It makes him worried, did something perhaps happen? why was his girlfriend awake so late? "yn?" he calls out in a soft tone looking around for her, "oh hey you're back how was it? Did you enjoy it?" a small head pokes out from the couch, "it was good but shouldn't you be asleep sweets?" he softly kisses her head and walks to the kitchen, "couldn't sleep so I thought I'd read" she gets comfortable on the couch again. a thin comforter laid on her stomach, her head laid on a cascade of pillows, book in hand, table lamp beside her and a paper bookmark laid next to a cup of hot tea.

"How are you feeling?" he holds her feet and places them on his lap, caressing her leg lovingly. She rolls her eyes and puts her book on her chest, "Better since morning," she picks up her book, "That's good to hear, are you having any cramps can I give you a massage?" she huffs angrily, puts her bookmark on the current page and look at him, "Jin my love you're lovely and I adore you very much sweetie but what does a girl gotta do to read without distractions?" he chuckles heartily, "oh I'm sorry, but what are you reading?", "my fault by Mercedes Ron" her voice suddenly chirpy, telling the incidents in her book with a sparkle in her eyes.

"but if you really want to help could you change the song" She points to the record player placed on top of the mantle, "Of course" he carefully takes out the record, one of her favorites 'the best of Classic Jazz' and keep it in the categorized closet, "put on my favorite you know the one by josé james" I smile as I sort through the inventory and quickly find the record 'they can't take that away from me'. the melody filling the room elegantly.

he returns to as they were before. picking up a magazine from the coffee table, flipping through it. the room lit dimly with small table lamps on either side of the couch, no words spoken other than those sung melodically by the jazz singer with a beautiful voice, and yet the room had so many unspoken words heavy in the air, the elegance of it drowned the lovers in the beauty of loud silence.

a grunt of discomfort breaking the silence, he looks at her with soft eyes, "What's wrong?", "I'm just sick of using a heating pad and still having cramps" she exasperated, hanging her hand off the couch, her delicate French nails touching the wooden ground. "can I massage your stomach?" he doesn't wait for an answer and slides the blanket off her midriff, "you don't have to" she drawls out sarcastically half hoping he does, "oh, but I do" he puts the heating pad on the coffee table. her crop top riding up as she reaches for her cuhe presses a chaste kiss to her stomach before massaging it softly, caressing the skin with his fingers, "You know..." "I'll know once you tell me" she follows on his teasing tone, "I can make your periods disappear for a little while" he turns his head to the side, smirking and wiggling his brows, "nuh-uh no", "and you know" "no I know absolutely nothing nope I'm not getting into that"

"Oh, are you sure about that? mhmm?" "oh yes mhmmm defiantly not getting into...that" "Mhmm we'll see how sure you are" Her eyebrows raise in question, then furrows her brow in realization, "Nooo" "Oh yesss" he stops massaging her and brings his hands to her side, tickling her, her body moving from side to side laughing, "sto-pppppp". her eyes crinkling a the ends, "Jinnnn nooo" the beautiful sound of laughter filling the room, "stop or I'm not showing you the ideas I saved on Pinterest for the wedding" he raises his hand in surrender, "yay I win" "it wasn't a competition!!" she shrugs in response. she picks up her fallen book and places it on the table beside her tea. and crawls into his arms. "I love you nini", "I love you too" he kisses her forehead.

"want to hear a joke?" "oh Kay...suuure" "Why do seagulls fly over the ocean?" "why?" "Because if they flew over the bay, we'd call them bagels." "whyyy" she chuckles, "terrible pj, poor joke" She laughs heartily, "talking about pjs let's sleep?" "Talking about bagels, let's have some with cream cheese" She smiles wide at the thought, "you're hungry?" "you made me with all your bagel talk" she points at him accusingly.

"jinnnn we don't have bagels I ate the last one for breakfast, could you get some?" "Darling it's 3 am Where would I find bagels at such an hour?!" "at least tryyyyy I crave some" she pouts, "come on, how about I make you some ramen instead", "Oooh cream cheese bagels with spicy ramen!! we could have both it'll be delicious" "your period cravings are so weird" he pats her head, "I'm not going to go find bagels at 3 am nooo" She looks at him with a brow raised and a soft smirk, "nini pleaseee" she begs with a naughty tone, "I know it's late but for the future Mrs. Kim?" he shakes his head in whiny denial, knowing very well that he is going to go anyway, "I'm going to get bagels aren't I?" she shakes her head in agreement, "yayy now hurry goo, I'll make the ramen" "yes my love" he kisses the engagement ring on her finger then her hand, "I'll be back soon"

it takes him a good half an hour to find bagels but he returns home successfully. "I found bagels at 3 am" "Took you long enough! ramen's ready come sit" They discuss wedding plans as they eat laughing and teasing each other, "How about a pink wedding?" "oh hell nahh how about grey instead?" "how about a grey and pink wedding?" "I like that idea," she says noting it down in her diary, "of course you do your genius fiancé thought of it" The sweet sound of mellow jazz music in the background and the laughter of the sweet couple makes the house feel like a home, a sense of comfort and joy, wedding planning seeming like an easy task when the couple shares so much love.
