We stopped a few miles back from where I had dropped my things in the bushes. I pulled out my cell phone and saw I had a dozen missed calls. Some from Chris and some from Lydia.
My chest jerked in nervousness. I walked back up to Tessa's SUV. She sat their idly, staring out of the window. I closed the door as I slipped inside. The car ride was silent, except me giving directions to Chris's house.
I kept her in my line of sight through the corner of my eyes.
She mouthed the words to the song on the radio but all together was no threat.
I looked out the window and watched. As we started approaching the house, she started to slow down. Her calm skittish facade was less than that. She had full force turned towards me. Her face was rock solid and unnerving.
"I know who you are Casio Argent. " she said as a whisper. She knows my name. I thought. I reached into my boot to take out my knife. "Looking for this?" she said.
Pulling out my throwing dagger. I reached into my boot and pulled out a thick wrapped tissue paper. I should have checked inside of my boot. I gave her a cold glare. "What do you want?" I hissed.
She only smiled. "No need to be cold Cas. I want to be your friend." she said. "This is a great start to a friendship." I said sarcastically.
She laughed. "No need. I know who you are and what you are." she said. Leaning away from me. "What am I? " I asked. I was curious myself. "A hunter." she said.
I sighed relief. "You and Chris are not the only hunters in Beacon Hills. Their are more of us." she said. Pulling up her sleeve to show my her family hunters mark.
It was a snake laced around a bird in flight in a lazy circle. It was a mix of the Hunger Games and Harry Potter. "What do you want then?" I asked.
"I want us to be friends." she said. "Cut the bull. You want something. What do you want?" I said. Inching my hand closer to her hand that held the blade. "Touchy. Well fine. I want you to be apart of our group. Our pack you could say. " she said.
Spinning my dagger around her fingers. I just watched her. "You can even bring Chris. We have a meeting tomorrow night. Feel free to come. I'll text you the details." she said.
Sliding the dagger into my reach. "You don't have my number. " I said. "Maybe I do. I know a lot of things about you that you don't know." she said. She unlocked the doors of the SUV. I grabbed my backpack and my dagger and jumped out of the car.
I looked at her and closed the door. I gave her a final look and she drove off.

I knew I was gonna be in a load of crap when I walked through that front door. I pushed open the white door and waited for the crash. But...there was nothing. No noise. Nothing. "Chris?" I yelled out into the house. I walked farther in and no one was home.
Maybe Chris didn't know I had ditched school. I checked my phone. School was just getting out. I sighed and walked up to my room. I threw my bag down and collapsed on top of my bed. Instantly falling asleep.

I slept through the day and night. I'd never slept that good before, so I missed the rant I was going to receive. If Chris ever found out.
I was sitting through my last class of the day. I managed to avoid everyone today. I didn't want to look at Lydia and think of what I said to her. To face all of those kind people and hate them.
I walked home through the woods. I didn't want to run into Tessa. Or anyone. I was speeding through the woods, the woods always did creep me out. I kept my blade palmed just in case. I was certainly more paranoid.

"How was your day?" Chris asked me as I walked into the house. "Good. Yours?" I asked. Walking into the kitchen, were be was sitting with his coffee and shinning a hand held. "Uneventful." he responded.
"Hey Chris." I said. I tried to bite my tongue, but it was too late. "Are there anymore hunters in Beacon Hills?" I asked. Leaning against the door frame. Ready to bolt if this turned bad.
"Hmm. Not that I know of. If there were. I might know about them." he said. Frowning at his gun. "Why do you ask?" he said. Not looking up at me. He continued to shine the barrel. "I was...just wondering." I said. With that I walked upstairs.
