A growl ripped through the air as he lunged at me. I wasn't fast enough and he leaped on top of me. With the force of his body, he slammed me to the ground. His claws bit into my shoulders. I let out a scream as the claws scraped my bones. With the limited space I had to move my arms I reached for the blade under my dress.
With a sharp movement I trusted the knife up. The beast let out a howl and rolled off of me, realising me from his hold. I cluched my shoulders. The fabric rubbed hard on the wounds so I ripped off my sleeves. And wipped of the blood from my hands and blade. The man-beast stood up, dark blood laced his shirt and pants.
His eyes were still glowing yellow. He was a regular wolf. I could take him. His arms were away from his body in position mode. He growled. It echoed off the walls in a booming vibration. He took off with speed that slightly surprised me. I used the oldest tactic in the book. I turned and took off running towards the wall. I did a quick run up the wall and flipped over his head. It was like operating in slow motion.
I glided above his head, watching as he slowing lifted his head to watch me, and that's when you strike. With as much strength as I could muster I lodged the knife in the dip of his jaw that met his neck. As I landed he felt to the ground. I could hear him choking and watched the blood pool around his head.
I turned and took off down the hall, my boots echoing. "Lydia!" I yelled. My voice collided with the walls. "Liam!" I turned the corner. My dress started slowing me down. I stopped to rip the bottom part of my dress off, leaving me in a sweet heart neckline half dress with puffed shoulders and spandex. As a hunter your clothes have to be battle ready as you are.
I pulled up the thigh socks and untucked the extra knife. I listened quietly for any noise in the long empty halls. A large being made its presence known. The beast ran with his amazing speed. I just narrowly dodged. And as he ran by I through my knife. Implanting it in its spine.
The beast let out a whimper and collapsed to the ground. "Liam!" I called out. A growl took my attention. I turned and faced another giant wolf. "Your one of themmm!" it hissed. His gross bloddy arm lifted from his body and pointed at me "A HUNTER!" his voice bellowed deep and shoke the hall. He leaped at me and I dodged. He was really fast and all I could do was dodge and maneuver around his blows. He landed a kick in my stomach. I was launched against the lockers hard and fast.
The beast picked me up and tossed me farther down the hall. I let out a yelp as he kicked me. I utilized my small window I get to my feet. As he was about to kick I jumped to my feet and grabbed his leg and kicked it in. A loud crack bounced off the walls. He fell to the ground. I thought he was down till I saw him pop his knee back into place. He smiled as I turned to run. But he was faster. I swung my blade at him. Landing in his chest.
He stepped back and just looked down at my blade. He pulled it out and threw it back at me. It landed in my shoulder. I impact of the knife knocked me on my butt. I was not about to lose to this thing. Something started to rise in my chest. The deep rage the fueled me.
As I layed on my back I watched him approach me in slow motion. The notches in my chest started to click, little triggers, like little pieces of my body were tearing apart and being put together in a more solid form. I felt myself change. Then it hit me. Like being knocked over by a wave, being tumbled around by the water, then when you reach the surface. The relief.
I looked into the eyes of the beast. He stopped. He was frozen still. His yellow eyes were wide, like he was afraid. This body was trembling, trying to force himself to move, all the clicking inside me were locked into place. There was a power flowing through me, crashing against my bones and fueling everything inside me. Then I felt a push, like something being ripped out of me and painful sweet ripping sensation. As I felt it force itself from my body and collide with the beast. I watched his body being shoved by a invisible force against the lockers. The metal was dented with the collison.
There was a loud snap, and he slumped to the ground. Completely motionless. I slowly began to stand. The power inside of me drained as fast as it had arrived. I used the lockers as support. Trying to regain my energy. But there was no chance to recharge. I was knocked to the ground with a solid force to the ribs. I fell to the ground with a thud. My body heavy and tired. I tried to used whatever energy to pull the knife from my shoulder and throw it at the beast.
But he kicked me in the head. Everything started blinking in and out of focus. As the light bounced around I heard more growls. I opened my eyes long enough to see Liam. But he wasn't Liam. The figure that looked like Liam didn't have his blue eyes, or his face. This thing had bright yellow eyes, and the face of a monster. It was a wolf
