Cody dragged himself home and shut the door behind him. He heard noises from the living room, indicating that his father was home. He took his shoes off and went upstairs to his room without saying a thing.

He set his bag down and let out a deep sigh.

"I'm so bored..." He muttered.

He went on his phone and looked through his social media.

He got recommended the account of one of his classmates.

He didn't have any contacts in his phone, so he only had social media for his social needs.

He decided to message his classmate.

'Hey, Tyler! Sup, dude?'

After a few minutes, the reply came.

'Cody? What do you want?'

'Heyyy man! Just thought I'd see what's up?'

'You're so weird. What? Did you forget the homework or something?'

'No, nothing like that! I really just wanted to talk!'

'Like I'd talk to the class weirdo. Try talking to another loser. Not a top athlete like me.'

Tyler blocked him after that.

Cody frowned. But he wasn't surprised. This wasn't new or anything, but it still hurt.

He decided to go shower.

After his shower, he came back to his room to get dressed. He looked through his underwear drawer and furrowed his brows in confusion. "What... I'm sure I did the laundry yesterday. How come there's just one?" He shook his head and just got dressed anyway.

After having dinner, he went to brush his teeth but couldn't find his toothbrush.

"What the heck..."

All he could see was his dad's toothbrush.

Cody sighed in annoyance. He decided to just go to sleep and buy a new toothbrush tomorrow before school.

Cody went to school and brushed his teeth in the school bathroom with his new toothbrush.

He has no idea why some of his things were missing. But he wasn't thinking too deeply about it. He just assumes his dad did it, but since he doesn't talk to his dad, he won't dare to ask him about it.

He went to class. No one talked to him. In fact, some people outright avoided him. This wasn't anything new or surprising. It was normal.

When class was over, Cody dropped his head on his desk. He wanted to take a short nap but was interupted by a random light flashing. He raised his head as he heard someone curse. He looked around and saw someone run out quickly.

That was weird. Nobody was inside the class before Cody put his head down, and he didn't recognize that person as someone from his class.

He sighed, deciding to ignore it and went back to sleep.

Soon, the bell rung and he woke up again. He, again, saw the same person run out just as his classmates made their way in.

When school was over, Cody walked home.

He felt like something was off.

He stopped walking and turned around. Without being able to answer why, he started walking the way he came from.

As he made it to the corner, he saw someone standing behind the corner.

The person widened his eyes and ran away.
