Another short chapter!
It was 5 am the following morning and Amiyah was beyond mentally stressed. She couldn't sleep and when she did, all she dreamed about was Deja or should she say, Angel's face. And the nerve of Anthony to bring her here of all places! As Amiyah sat on the back porch drinking coffee, she thought back to sophomore year. How could she forget that she was pregnant? She remembered the day she found out, she was so terrified. Mainly because she knew it wasn't Eli's, they were still broken up when she found out. She hadn't been with anybody except Anthony since the breakup and she knew immediately it was a mistake the following morning and vowed to never let it happen again. Anthony on the other hand, was thinking the complete opposite, he started coming to all the parties that her sorority threw just to see her and even went as far as popping up at her dorm unannounced. The day she tested, Jas was with her. She knew as soon as she saw those two lines, that she couldn't keep it. She wasn't ready to be a mom and having another man's baby while trying to get back with Eli was out of the question for her. She called her doctor the same day to schedule an abortion, something she swore she would never do. She begged God to forgive her during the entire procedure and even now, she was begging Him for forgiveness. This is probably why God is punishing me, she thought as tears ran down her face.
After spending a few more minutes outside with her thoughts, she got up to go inside. On her way to the kitchen, she heard a knock on the front door. She glanced at the clock, 7 am..who is that this early? she thought. She peeked through the peephole but the person had their head down, "Who is it? she asked. "The person lifted their head and smiled, it was Ant. Amiyah fumed with anger as she rushed to the hall closet and grabbed a baseball bat. She swung the door open and pushed the bat into his chest, "Why are you here?! What do you want from me?!" she whisper-yelled so she wouldn't wake Elijah. Ant smirked and held his hands up in surrender, "Eli and me were supposed to go hoop today. I called but he didn't answer so I decided to stop by". he said. "He's sleeping so you can go. You are not welcome here," she said as she gripped the bat tighter ready to swing. "Alright, well maybe another day. Real quick though, does he know about us?" he asked with a smirk. "What?! There is no us! It was a one-time thing, now leave!" she said pointing the bat at him. With lightning speed, he grabbed the bat from her and pinned her against the wall with her hands behind her back, "I don't take too kindly to being threatened, so please just be nice to me." he said with a venomous tone and snake-like smile. She used all of her strength to get her hands free and push him off her, "Get off me! Just go." she said breathing heavily. "I will, but trust me I haven't forgotten what you did to me or my baby," he said as he walked down the stairs to his car.
Amiyah felt like the wind was knocked out of her, How did he know about the baby? She had never told anyone except for Jas. Just then, Elijah comes out the front door with his gym bag in hand. "Hey baby, I'm so sorry. This was already a planned thing and I forgot to cancel last night after everything. I'll make it quick, I promise." he stated as he kissed her on the forehead with a 'forgive me please' look. Amiyah shook her head as she watched her husband get into Ant's car. Lord, please keep my husband safe, she prayed silently as she walked back into the house. She needed to do something today to lift this weight off her shoulders! Lord what is going on, I need your help, she whispered as she went upstairs to her prayer closet to pray.
