Chap 2: Burning Brighter Than Before

After Owen defeated Roy, he knew he was getting closer to replacing Agatha in the Kanto and Johto Elite Four, but he still had a while to go. But after Karen decided to flirt with him, his family teased him nonstop, making the redhead very uncomfortable.

Mike: "Come on, Owen, you know you love Karen so admit it."

Owen: "O-Oh, stop it! I can't train my Pokemon properly if you keep teasing me!"

Asuka: "Then just say you love Karen then Owen."

Owen: "In your dreams sis! Now I need to prepare to face Julia so please leave me alone."

And with that, Owen's family left him alone so he could prepare to face Julia.

Owen: 'Ok, so Julia used a Talonflame in her first-round match, but who knows what she will bring this time. But since she's Roy's cousin, I think she wants revenge after I beat him in the first round.'

And soon enough, it was time for Owen to face Julia. As both trainers entered their trainer's box, both of them glared at each other, looking to get an advantage over each other.

MC: "Well folks, as Owen and Julia get ready to face each other in the second round, it looks like their both trying to intimidate each other. But we'll see who will emerge victorious here."

Referee: "This will be a two on two battle, no subsites are allowed and once one trainer loses both their Pokemon, the match will conclude. It has been decided that Julia will send out her Pokemon first."

Julia: "Steal the spotlight, Pyroar!" 

The Royal Pokemon then appeared in the field letting out a powerful roar as it took the first icon under Julia's picture.

MC: "And Julia starts things out with a Pyroar, what will Owen choose to fight it?"

Owen looked at a Pokeball and smirked.

Owen: "Bring the heat, Delphox!"

The final evolved form of Kalos' Fire Type starter then appeared on the battlefield letting out a small roar as it took Owen's first icon.

MC: "And Owen chooses Delphox."

Up in the stands, Owen's family couldn't believe their eyes.

Jessica: "Since when did Owen get a Delphox?"

Asuka: "He must have got as a Fennekin upon arriving in Kalos, I mean he did travel all across the six regions, so don't be surprised if he got the other Fire Type starters as well."

Julia: "Start things out with Take Down!"

Pyroar then charged itself at Delphox, however, Owen had other plans.

Owen: "Push it back with Psychic!"

The Fox Pokemon nodded as it used its left arm and sent Pyroar flying. The Royal Pokemon landed back first against the wall and began to pant heavily.

MC: "And looks Delphox's Psychic attack ended with a critical hit, but will Julia make a comeback?"

Julia growled at what happened.

Julia: "Pyroar, use Crunch!"

Pyroar then charged at Delphox with its mouth wide open, but Owen smirked.

Owen: "Use Swift!"

Delphox then used its burning branch to send out a bunch of stars that locked right onto Pyroar and it was hit head-on. Pyroar then fell to the ground with swirls in its eyes.

Referee: "Pyroar is unable to battle, Delphox wins."

MC: "Wow folks, just two attacks from Delphox was enough to put down Pyroar, who will Julia send out next?"
