Chapter 12

***A FEW WEEKS LATER***

Jax was taking me or following me to work every morning and I knew it was time he came into my world a little and meet Alice. He picked me up from work one afternoon and we drove to the local diner.

"So, what do I need to know about Alice?" Jax said as we got off the bike to walk inside.

"She is my oldest friend and has always been around. She will always be around Jax. I need you to know I still need to have my world too." I said and he nodded.

"Hey, I want you to have your own world too." Jax said and gave me a small kiss as we walked into the diner, and I saw Alice sitting down already. I walked over to the table, and she stood up giving me a big hug. Once we broke apart, I looked at Jax and smiled.

"Alice, this is Jax, Jax this is my best friend, Alice." I said and Jax smiled. They shook hands and then we all sat down.

"So we have seen each other before." Alice said and Jax nodded.

"The bar with that guy..." Jax said, and I nodded.

"Yeah, weird night." I said.

"So, when did this all happen?" Alice asked after we ordered.

"A few weeks ago, maybe...it just kind of happened. After I met my dad, everything fell into place." I said.

"And you on a motorcycle...things I never thought I would see." Alice said and I sighed shaking my head. I knew what she was doing.

"Alice..." I said and she sighed. Jax looked between us.

"Is there a problem?" Jax asked. Alice looked right at Jax instead of me.

"I love Jules and she is like a sister to me." Alice started off saying and Jax just half nodded. "But she tends to fall for guys easily..."

"Alice!" I said annoyed.

"Well, you do, and I just don't want to see you get hurt, you have been through enough." Alice said and I shook my head.

"Alice, I know you don't know me and probably don't trust me, but I need you to know I would never do anything to upset Jules. She and I have things to work through and deal with, but we are getting there." Jax said and I gave a small smile.

"Well just know if you hurt her, they will never find your body." Alice said and I looked at Jax and rolled my eyes.

"She scares me more than your dad." Jax whispered in my ear and I giggled.

We finished lunch and Jax said he would go pay the bill to excuse himself leaving Alice and I to go outside and talk.

"So?" I asked. "You badgered him enough during lunch...what do you think?" I asked.

"Well, he isn't like the normal guys you go for, I'll tell you that much." Alice said.

"Okay but what do you think of him?" I asked and Alice smiled at me.

"He makes you happy, I can tell. He is protective of you and won't let anything happen to you. All I ask if you be careful." Alice said and I nodded.

"I will be I promise." I said and she smiled as we hugged, Jax came walking out of the diner and smiled as we broke apart.

"We better get you back to work." Jax said and I groaned.

"I don't wanna." I whined and they all laughed.

"I have to go too. Let's all go be adults." Alice said and we all walked to our rides. As I was about to get on the bike, I got the call from an unknown number again.

"I swear to god...Hello?" I said and answered the phone. No answer...shocker! I hung up and Jax looked at me.

"Problem?" Jax asked as I got on the bike.

"I just keep getting these unknown calls and yet they don't say anything when I answer." I said and Jax just half nodded.

"You want me to look into it?" Jax asked.

"How Jax? They are unknown numbers." I said and he sighed. I wrapped my arms around his midsection and kissed the side of his neck and he smiled, he turned his head and gave me a kiss. We then took off.

I walked out of work and Jax was there but looked nervous.

"Hey, you okay?" I asked as I walked up to him. He stood up from leaning on the bike, placed a hand on the back of my neck and passionately kissed me. Once we broke apart, I just looked at him concerned.

"What's going on?" I asked and he sighed as I saw my car pull up behind Jax's bike.

"I have to go on a run for something." Jax said and I just looked at him.

"Jax..."

"Jules..."

"What are you running? Guns or drugs?" I asked in a small voice, and he groaned.

"I wish I wouldn't have told you that much." Jax said and I shook my head.

"I did use my ways of getting it out of you..." I said and pushed my body against his and he groaned. I heard 2 more bikes pull up and it was Clay and Tig.

"We gotta go." Clay said.

"I'll come by when I get back okay?" Jax asked and I nodded.

"How long will you be gone?" I asked.

"Not sure day or so maybe." Jax said.

"Jax..." Clay growled, and I sighed.

"You better go." I said and Jax leaned down giving me a kiss.

"Can you do something for me?" Jax asked.

"Possibly..." I said. He got on the bike and looked at me.

"Remember that I love you." Jax said and drove off. I stood there in shock watching him drive away. I looked at my dad.

"Be safe." I said and walked over to his bike and kissed his cheek.

"Always." Tig said and drove off. I got in my car and headed home to get some dinner and have a night biker free.

That night I was sitting on my couch, reading a book. I had just got a text from Jax saying that even though it was late he was on his way back and coming over. I was excited to see him to discuss what he said to me. Did I feel the same way, I mean I knew I was having feelings for him, but I wasn't sure we were going to be there just yet.

There was a knock on my door as I started to doze off on my couch and I smiled getting up knowing it was Jax, so I rushed to the door and opened it without even looking. As I opened the door, I had a gun in my face.

"Where is he?!" The voice yelled. He was wearing a ski mask but the guys he was with came rushing past me and started searching for my house.

"Who?!" I asked scared and confused.

"JAX TELLER! WHERE IS HE!" The guy yelled grabbing me by my throat and pinning me against the wall.

"I don't know who you are talking about! I don't know a Jax Teller." I said. He growled and pistoled whipped me over my head and everything went black.
