Neteyams POV:
I had sprung out of my absence seizure and looked at Aonung as he waited for me to say something. "Yeah okay whatever." I walked into my room, avoiding eye contact with my siblings.
Time had passed and I didn't eat my dinner. I didn't feel like it. I just walked out the hut and went up into the same tree I always went to, daily.
I looked out into the horizon, and I stared at the ilus jumping in and out of the water. A smile appeared across my face, but it was quickly swept away once I heard a familiar voice. "Neteyam!"
I looked down and I saw Aonung. I scoffed and rolled my eyes. I didn't want to talk to him at the moment. Out of everyone I wanted to talk to, he was not on the list.
"What do you want." I yelled back at him, turning back to the ocean. "Please come down. I want to talk to you." I looked down once again. "You have already said enough."
"Please. Neteyam." He asked firmly. I was shocked at his sudden desperation to talk to me. I slowly went down the tree and stood near it. I just looked at him with confusion waiting for him to speak.
Aonung didn't say anything until he walked over to the sand and sat down, "Sit." he insisted. I cautiously sat next to him. "I am sorry." He repeated.
"You have already said that." I scoffed. "I know, but you didn't believe me. I am Neteyam." He spoke once more. "I feel bad."
"You should! The way you acted towards us wasn't respectful at all. But I'm glad you are finally understanding that." I speak, slightly in anger.
Aonung didn't say anything in return, and just looked at me. Until after some time he finally spoke. "I will start to respect your family, like you demanded."
I was finally starting to forgive him. I looked at his face, and the look of guilt spread across his face. I could tell he was being genuine. "Ok then, I forgive you. But if you mess with my family again in anyway, I won't again." I replied with a stern face.
The Metkayina boy nodded quickly, and looked out to the sea. "...thank...you." He slowly stated after a moment of silence. I nodded in reply.
We sat there looking out at the sunset for hours. Most of the time it was filled with silence. The silence started out awkward, but got comfortable.
"Alright, I'm going back to my hut now, you coming?" Aonung stood up and asked. "No, I'll stay here." I replied with a soft smile. He walked off and I continued to look at the stars.
I went on my back and I pointed at the sky, counting as much stars as I could. Time passed quickly and I hadn't noticed, not until I heard a familiar voice scream my name. MY FULL NAME.
"NETEYAM TE SULLI TSYEYK'ITAN." I froze in fear. What the fuck. I sat up really quick and saw my mother storming towards me. Oh fuck.
"WE HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR YOU!" She screamed grabbing my wrist lightly. "I thought we had lost you!!" Her voice became wobbly. I hugged her tight. "I'm sorry mother, I apologise."

I had sent back to my hut and got scolded by my father. By that time, I was too tired and zoned out through the whole thing, not listening at all.
They had sent me to bed and I fell asleep quickly. Which made me wake up early the next morning.
Today, I had redo Tuk's hair, and possibly Kiri's for my mother since it was due, but she would be out all of today.
I got up from my hammock and walked to Tuk's room where she sat on the floor playing with her toys. "Hello my TukTuk." I grabbed her and tickled her. Her laughs making me smile.
I grabbed a braid of her hair gently. "Look at this! My Tuk, we must re do them!" She looked at me with excitement. "Yes yes! Teyam, please redo them!" She squealed.
"Ok, you must sit still in front of me. Come on." I smile patting the mat in front of me. She sits and I start to take out all of her braids.
After a few "Ouch!", "Stop that hurts!" or, "Oww!" 's , I had finished taking out her braids and now I needed to start re-braiding her hair.
"My Tuk, pick out some beads you would like to put on your braids." I explained, and she picked out lots of white shell beads. "They remind me of Tsireya!" She spoke fondly with a toothy smile.
A long time had passed and I had finally finished her hair. "All done!" I exclaimed. He turned around and started to skip around the room. "Yay!! Thank you so much Teyam! I love them!!" I smiled at her comments.
"Come on Tuk let's go show father!" I held her small hand and walked out to the main room where our dad was.
"Dad! Dad!" She squealed at him, running up to his leg and cuddling it. "Wow, they look awesome baby girl." He smiled at her hair then looked to me. "You did well, son."
I smiled at my father and went into Kiri's room. And to no surprise she wasn't in there. I looked to my father's direction. "Where is Kiri?" I asked him. He shrugged in response. "I am not sure exactly but she said she was going out with that short Metkayina boy, I think his name was Robot"
I laughed at my fathers comment, and knew exactly who he was talking about. "Dad, it's Rotxo." He tried hard not to smile. "Get outa here." I smiled at him and went into my room.
As I got into my room I watched the view outside through the opening in my wall. I watched little kids play with their friends, and elders helping mothers around. I smiled. Maybe I can get used to this place.
