Neteyams POV:
It had been weeks after Aonung talked to me and my family. Everything slowly went to being normal, and training sessions went on like usual, but this time it was less awkward since we were all closer.
Lo'ak and Aonung were practically brothers as they were so close. My mother wasn't very fond of Aonung still, but acted as if she didn't mind.
In the present day, me and Tsireya went out to look at the different types of coral we could find in shallow reef pools.
We went on for hours, as you could tell how deeply interested Tsireya was, slowly I became just as invested as she was. It was truely beautiful.
On our trip, I had collectively gathered tiny bits of coral that I would gift to my siblings. Mainly gift them to Kiri and Tuk, because Lo'ak only really seemed to focus on diving and ilu-riding. Which he had gotten very talented at.
After our lesson I set of to find Tuk. I walked along the beach where the little kids ran around playing, mg sister not in sight.
Until I heard a familiar friendly squeal from behind me. "Neteyam!!" Tuk ran and hugged my leg.
"Tuk!" I matched her energy and bent down to her level. "I got you something!" Her eyes lit up once I've mentioned the gift. He jumped around in excitement. "What is it? What is it?"
I pulled out the prettiest piece of coral I found. "Look, isn't it beautiful?" She carefully look it out of my hands. "Wow! I love it! It's so pink!" Her smile was wide and her words were genuine. It made me smile with her.
"Alright Tuk, I've got to go see Kiri now. Do you know where she is?" I asked the happy child in front of me. "She is with Rotxo!" She pointed in the direction of the spring pools. I pat her head, and set to Kiri's location.
I walked until I could see her figure in the distance. I saw her seated next to Rotxo. They looked close together. I didn't want to ruin their moment. So I turned around, but was shocked at the taller Navi standing directly behind me.
"Hey." Aonung spoke looking down. "What the! You scared me." I exclaimed to the man who stood before me, still in shock. He just laughed in my face, and walked with me.
"What were you trying to do?" He asked looking at the coral in my hands. I sighed and looked at the coral as-well, playing with it a little. "I was gonna give it to Kiri, but I'll give it to her at dinner." I spoke with an exhausted tone.
"Oh, ok." He simply said. After that there was an awkward silence. Until, I broke it. "So, why are you here?" I was confused on why he was following me. It almost looked as if he didn't know either. Until he explained, "Oh I just saw you and wanted to say hi."
I nod, continuing to walk to my hut. I had a few glances at him, quickly observing his features. He had a scar on his arm, it was pretty big. He also had a cut on his hand, it looked fresh.
"How'd you get that?" I pointed at his finger, and stopped walking. He stopped aswell and looked at his finger. "Oh this? It just happened when I was gutting fish." He paused looked back up at me. "Does it hurt?"
"Well, a little." He replied tilting his held a little. "Come." I simply say, grabbing his wrist and dragging him into my hut, to grab some aid.
I sat him down in my room, and ran to get stuff to help. I got some bandage, and a small cup of water. When I came back, I looked at the clueless boy sitting on the floor confused.
I sat down in front of him, and grabbed his hand, examining the wound. All though it wasn't deep, I didn't want it to get infected.
"How long ago did you do this?" I asked, looking closely at his hand. "Like maybe after Lunch.", he mumbled and I let out a small gasp. "You have had it for that long?!" My eyebrows furrowed as I looked at him. He let out a small guilty smile.
I dipped a small cotton pad into the water and lightly rubbed it over the bloody wound, letting out a few scoffs, and he let out a few winces.
Once I finished cleaning the cut, I wrapped the bandage around his hand, tightly. I overlapped it a couple times so it wouldn't come off while he was swimming.
I finished, and looked up at the exhausted boy. "Now, you must make sure to take care of it." I explain. "I don't want it to get worse, do you?" He didn't answer the question and just laughed. "Thanks Neteyam."
Him saying my name made my heart feel as if it had flipped. I unconsciously let out a smile and a small laugh. He stood up, and so did I.
"I'm going to go now, I'll talk to you later?" Aonung spoke, with a slight smile. I nodded and walked him out. We waved at each-other and I started make dinner for the family.
Lo'ak's voice was then heard. "Wow, that was cute." He teased. I just scoffed at him. "Oh please." My face felt warm. What was cute?
"Oh please? Come on now, you totally like him." Lo'ak dragged on this conversation. I just scolded him and continue to make dinner.
"He isn't that bad! Am I right?" Lo'ak walked towards me observing my cooking. I let out a small laugh. "My baby bro, most times you are wrong. But, I will let you have the benefit of the doubt." I smiled.
He let out a victorious laugh. "I told you so! This is why you should listen to me more!!" A huge smile was smothered across his face. I couldn't help but smile aswell.
