~Cara's POV~

He smiled at me.

I blushed and looked down. God he's so cute. Why is he so cute? Oh my God. He's walking over here. Holy shit.

I turned to the mirror in my locker and fixed my hair a little bit, before placing my bag in my locker and grabbing my English textbook and notebook. I shut my locker, and when I turned around, there he was.

The one and only, Jack Gilinsky.

"Hey," he smiled that toothy grin of his. "H-hey." I smiled and looked down. He placed his index finger on my chin and lifted up my head so our eyes met. "Cara.."

I didn't know he knew my name..

"I've loved you since the day you walked in to this school your first day. Yes, I was a junior and you were only a freshman, but that didn't matter to me. I've loved you for so long, and now I finally have the courage to do this.."

He started leaning in, of course I did as well, when our lips were centimeters apart..

The bell rang, and I woke up.

"Dammit.." I whispered under my breathe as I stood up and collected my things to go to lunch.

As I was walking to the cafeteria, I spotted Jack across the hallway. God Dammit, Jack.

He smiled and waved.

Wait. What the fuck?

I gave him a shy smile and wave back, only to notice that he wasn't in fact waving to me, but to the schools slut, Ashely Peterson. They had this 'on and off' type of relationship, but everyone knew it meant that they hooked up, and when Jack slept with another girl they would stop sleeping together, and then Ashely would get lonely so they would start hooking up again.

I sighed and walked into the cafeteria. This month has been pretty hard on my mom and I, because she got laid-off on one of her jobs, so we're barely even keeping up with rent. So when this happens, I don't get lunch.

I sat down at my table, with my 4 other friends: KC, Jackie, Logan, and Shawn.

"Where's your food?" Logan asked me as I sat down. "Not hungry." I replied putting my head on the table.

I was so tired, I didn't sleep at all last night. My insomnia has gotten a lot worse, and it's starting to effect how I act. Sleep deprivation and sudden panic attacks don't tend to blend well with each other.

They all continued with the usual lunch conversation, the latest gossip, what happened between first period and now, while I tried to get thirty minutes of sleep.

*Skip to the end of the school.*

I was walking out of school when I bumped into someone and dropped all my belongings.

"Oh hey, sorry. Here, I'll help." The mystery person bent down and started picking up my stuff for me, why I looked up to see who had collected my stuff, it was him.

It was Jack.

"Th-thanks." I stuttered, looking down. "You're Cara, right?"

Oh my God. "Um, yeah. And you're Jack?"

Well of course he was Jack, idiot.

He smiled and extended his hand, "Yeah, nice to meet you." I accepted his gesture and took his hand. "You too."

He smiled once more before speaking again, "So listen, there's this party at Jackson's place tomorrow night around ten, would you maybe wanna go with me?"

HOLY FUCKING SHIT.

"Yeah, yeah of course." I smiled at him. He smiled back, "Cool, so do you want me to pick you up?"

"Um sure, here let me give you my add-"

"How about your phone number? Then you can just text it to me."

Jack Gilinsky just asked for my phone number. "Yeah, okay." He gave me his phone and I entered my number, I smiled at him, "See you tomorrow."

"Yeah, see you tomorrow."

We smiled at each other and walked our separate ways. A few seconds later I got a phone call from a random number, I answered.

"Hello?"

"Just making sure it wasn't fake."

I smiled and turned around, and there was Jack, flashing me that toothy, irresistible smile of his.

I walked out of that building with a smile plastered onto my face.
