~Maddie's Pov~

I was done putting on a fake smile for my parents. I didn't want to deal with this anymore. I COULDN'T deal with this anymore. They'll come back to the house to repack, and then leave again.
I didn't want to be alone anymore. I wanted my family back.

Is it bad that I feel without a real home? Without REAL parents? I just wanted what everyone else had. Parents that would have family dinners with you, and go to the park. As a family. With no division.

My parents were on their way home. I need to talk to them about this.

"Hey honey we're back!" said my dad.

I sat on the couch not talking to them. I just stared at the wall with my arms crossed.

"Are you alright?" asked my mom.

"Oh yeah. I'm great. How are you? Its not like I would know" I say getting up.

"Madd-"

"No. Are you that oblivious? Both of you! You're not aware of whats going on with my life. You don't care about my happiness, do you? You only worry about what you want to do."

"Maddie, you know that we have to leave for business."

"Oh come on. We all know that your 'business trips' are just visits to some random bar you find."

"Madeline May! That was completely disrespectful! You know that we can't just let our work team down!" my father said raising his voice.

"What about letting me down? What is it going to be? Work, or me?"

Both of them were dead silent.

Tears started welling up in my eyes. "Oh. I see. Usually this wouldn't be as tough of a decision if you two were actually good parents. Just go and leave like you always do! Get drunk, do things that you will regret. See if I care! Congratulations, you finally broke me. I hope you have a good life. I don't plan on seeing you two any time soon" I say running upstairs to my room.

I needed to get out of here.
I grabbed my phone and opened my bedroom window. I climbed down the ladder that my dad always left on the side of the house.

I ran.
I ran as fast as I could.

I found his house and
knocked on his door.

"Maddie? Oh no. Come here" he pulls me in a hug. I wrap my legs around his waist, while my arms are wrapped around his neck.

"I'm sorry H-Hayes I didn't m-mean to intrude" I try to spit out.

"Baby, don't be sorry. Lets go inside."
He carried me into his house, and up into his room. I was still wrapped around his body.

It felt good to be in his arms.
