Chapter 5

~Maddie's Pov~

When Cam and I arrived at Jackson's house, we could both instantly smell the alcohol. It was disgusting.

He had his eye on this girl. She was in my grade. I think her name was Jamie? Jackie? I don't know, we've never really talked before.

"Uh, hey Cam?" I ask trying to draw his attention.

"Yeah?" He replies, still staring at
that girl.

"I'm going to go find Hayes. Why don't you go talk to that girl over there" I say gesturing to the girl with a smirk.

"O-Okay. Thanks Maddie."

"You're welcome. Now go!"

He started walking away, when he ran back. He pulled me into a hug and said
"Don't do anything crazy, okay?"

"Don't worry mom, I'll stay clean" I say pulling away with a laugh.

We waved goodbye, and I went to find Hayes.

I don't know how I'm going to find Hayes in this place, its HUGE.

I decided to text him.

To Haysie Boo 🙈- Hey I'm here. Where are you?

He instantly replied saying
Haysie Boo 🙈- In the kitchen.

I walked down to the kitchen, and saw Hayes. He was making cereal.

"Who eats cereal at a party?" I say laughing.

"Me obviously. Want some?"

"I'll have to pass. Do you know where I can get a non-alcoholic drink around here?"

"Thats going to be pretty hard. You can try the fridge, I think there's a few Mountain Dews left."

I grab a Mountain Dew from the fridge, and turn to see Hayes already done with his Fruity Pebbles.

"Wanna come upstairs with me?" He asks holding out his hand.

"Uh, Hayes, I don't think that thats a good id-"

"You nasty. Nah, I didn't mean that, I left my jacket upstairs."

"Well in that case, certainly" I say grabbing his hand.

He led me upstairs, and surely, his jean jacket was laying on the counter.

When we made our way back downstairs, still hand in hand, we sat on the couch.

"This party isn't as fun as I thought it would be" he says putting his chin on his palm.

"I know. And everyone here is either drunk or having alone time, if you know what I mean."

"EXACTLY. And the-" he stopped when he saw a guy holding a girl bridal style, going down the stairs.

"Thats Shawn" he spits out.

"Who's Shawn?"

"He's a viner a know. He's pretty close with Nash, so I usually hang out with him too. I'm going to go see whats up" he says getting up. I follow.

"Hey Shawn! Is she okay?" he asks.

"Oh, uh, yeah shes fine. Just fell asleep. I'm gonna go bring her home. I'll see you later bro."

We both waved goodbye to Shawn.

"They would make a cute couple. Anyways, why don't we get out of here" Hayes says.

"Agreed. Let me just find Cam and tell him that I'm leaving with you."

I looked over most of the house, and couldn't find him anywhere. The only place I didn't check was upstairs.

EW CAM YOU UNHOLY BOY.

I just decided to text him.

Cam🐬- I left with Hayes. Don't have too much fun 😉

I went back to where Hayes was standing and said "Lets get outta here."

I grabbed his hand and we went
out the door.
