Sophie's POV
It's been 3 weeks, which now leaves only less than a month till the play. I have all my lines memorized but I just need to learn to not stutter. We started putting action into the scenes so we were always on the stage.
We had several props finished but still had a lot more to go. A few costumes were finished, some were not.
Me and Fitz were now completing the dance scene which I think went on forever and when the song was complete, Fitz was suppose to slightly dip me. Me and Fitz were supposed to almost kiss and then I was supposed to rush out of their because of the clock.
"And scene!" The director yelled. The both of us stood in front of the director, waiting for him to say something.
"So, how'd we do?" Fitz asked, breaking the silence in the room.
"Amazing! I really felt the love between the two characters, and that is exactly how I want to feel on opening night! Bravo! Now, understudies, repeat the scene." Fitz and I went into the back while our understudies went on stage and started performing.
"So how are the costumes coming along?" I ask Biana. Biana had ended up joining costume committee, even though we had all thought it was a lot for her, but she had still risen to the challenge.
"They're coming along perfectly! Sophie your dress is almost finished! I'm glad I've already memorized my lines for the play or else I wouldn't have either my lines or the costumes finished."
"What about mine?" Fitz asked. Biana's eyes widened.
"Oh... right yours, uhm I still haven't started yet. I had been so caught up with everyone else's, I forgot yours."
"Can you at least guarantee I'll have a costume by the day the play is?" Biana nodded her head.
"Yup! I get to bring these home and work on them. Mom even said she'll help me!" She said, not looking away from her work.
"All right, I've had enough distractions for today, can you both move somewhere else?" We wished her good luck before we returned to the stage and watched the understudies complete the scene that Fitz and I had completed.
"Do you have all your lines memorized?" Fitz asked. I nodded.
"Yeah, do you?" He nodded as well.
"It's a good thing my friends convinced me to join the play. I've had a really fun time." He smiled.
"It's good thing you did. You're a good actress," I blushed, pushing a lock of hair behind my ear.
"Thanks, and you are as well, actor I mean," he chuckled.
"Thanks." And after that we had just continued watching until the scene finished. The director hadn't complimented them as much compared to when Fitz and I practiced, but they were still okay.
After we practiced more and more scenes, including the end scene and scenes where I had to sing. Soon it was the end of rehearsal, and I saw the sun set, a beautiful arrangement or colors in the sky. I said bye to the Vacker siblings and Dex and headed home.
"Hello Sophie! How was your day?" Edaline asked placing a plate of cookies on the coffee table.
"Fine, thanks," I answered.
"Opening night is in 3 weeks, how do you feel? Excited? Stressed? Feeling like you have butterflies in your stomach?" I shook my head.
"Not really. I feel fine, although I'm going to feel butterflies in my stomach when I'm up on the stage. What if I get stage fright?"
"Sweetheart, you're going to do amazingly, besides you already have acting experience," I rolled my eyes.
"Mom, I was 10 and I was a tree!"
"You were an amazing tree," I roll my eyes playfully, a small smile reaching my lips.
"But seriously, do you think I'll do well?" She nodded.
"Of course! I know you are a very good singer and actress all together. I've heard and seen you practice, you have nothing to worry about," she soothed, leading me to the couch.
"What if I stumble on my costume or my lines? Or worse, what if I'm not their at all?' She raised an eyebrow.
"Why wouldn't you be there?"
"I don't know, I could get sick with the flu and I wouldn't be able to perform at all, and then my bad understudy would take my place."
"Why is she bad? Is it really that bad if she accidentally takes your spot?" Edaline asked.
"Yes!"
"And why is that?" Edaline asked.
"Because I had been practicing my butt of for the past weeks and I'm not going to let it go to waste." She gave a small smile.
"Or is it about something different?" I blushed. "Maybe it's because a certain somebody doesn't want her crush to kiss somebody else, that isn't her." She wiggled her eyebrows.
"It's not about that," I quickly said, "I don't like her, that's all."
"Sure. Do you think you could take Silveny and Greyfell out for a walk?" I smile as the small dogs ran up to me.
"Hey guys, how you doing?" They both gave a small bark and ran away somewhere.
"Now only short walks, you know Silveny gets tired easily," I giggled as the impregnated dog slowly trailed behind Greyfell. I grabbed their leashes and whistled for them to run to me. Greyfell came straight away, Silveny trailed behind and I put her leash on when I was done with Greyfell's. We headed out the house, going for a quick walk around the block and headed back inside. Greyfell ran around the house and Silveny walked to her little bed, closing her eyes.
I went upstairs, grabbing my bag and went to complete my homework. Although I had gotten interrupted when a happy dog ran into my room. I picked him up and smiled at him. He was so soft and adorable.
"You wanna help me with my homework?" I ask him, receiving a small whimper from him.
"So I take that's a no?" He barked again and I set him on the ground petting him and giving him a belly scratch. He loved those. He barked, and somehow smiled, his tongue stuck out. Once I had finished, he whimpered and ran out the room, very excited for something.
I walk back to my chair and complete my homework. I laid on the bed, my arms and leg spread, glad I could finally put up my feet and relax on my comfortable bed.
