The play (Sophitz)

Sophie's POV

When I arrived home I immediately rushed to my room saying quick hi's to my adoptive parents Grady and Edaline. When I was 7 my real parents had left me in a ditch to rot. Giving me nothing to survive with. And then fortunately I met Grady and Edaline. They had taken me in their home for a few weeks and soon they adopted me. It's still the best moment of my life and they love me like their own child. And I love them too.

"Sophie, wait!" Edaline called as I was mid way through going up the stairs.

"Yes?"

"Sweetheart, tell us about your day. You've been hiding in your room for so long we haven't been keeping up with your life." I went downstairs and took a seat beside Edaline.

"Today I decided to audition for a play." Edaline smiled.

"Really? That's great, I'm so happy for you! What play?"

"It's Cinderella."

"And what role were you planning to audition for?" She asked.

"Cinderella." Grady entered the living room and sat on the other couch.

"But in the movie doesn't Cinderella kiss someone?" I nodded.

"And you want to kiss a boy? Who is it?" I blushed.

"Dad! It's no one okay? I'm not auditioning so I can kiss a boy. I just thought it would be fun," he raised an eyebrow not completely sold on the answer.

"Is it your crush, Fitz?" Edaline asked.

"Mom! It's nobody okay? I just wanted to join."

"Tell me everything later," she whispered.

"I'm going to head to my room, I have homework to finish," I stood up, saving myself from the embarrassing moment and headed to my room, softly closing the door behind me.

I grabbed my backpack, got my homework and got to work.

(Mini time skip)

It was now Wednesday. I think Fitz and I were friends? Wasn't very sure, although he did ask me to sit with his friends during lunch.

Anyways auditions were during lunch and it was now the 4th period. I dreaded the time the bell rang and stopped by my locker and put my books away. I had been practicing the songs during the weekend and I wasn't bad. I saw my friends walk up to me.

"Break a leg!" Linh said.

"Thanks Linh. I'm really hoping I get the part," I hope.

"Sophie, you'll ace it. I've heard you sing and there's no way the director wouldn't give you the part," Linh encouraged.

"Thanks. I'll see you guys later," after quick hugs from Linh and Dex, I made my way to where the auditions were held, which was in the gym.

I already saw several people gathering around. I noticed Fitz's little sister, Biana walk towards me.

"Hi! I'm Biana, Fitz's sister."

"I'm Sophie."

"I already know who you are. Fitz talks about you all the time. You're quite popular in our conversations. In fact he's developed a small crush on you," she said, winking. I blushed. There was no way Fitz had a crush on me.

"I really don't think so," I denied.

"Oh yes he does. He's always complimenting you, saying how you're so pretty and talented! And somebody told me that you have a crush on him as well."
