Those Stares

Ten days later, Beomgyu arrived in Seoul to reunite with his friends. Still reeling from the events of the past, he couldn't shake off the confusion and disbelief. Chaewon joined them at Three Choi's house. Soobin, though struggling inwardly, remained strong outwardly, masking his pain from everyone. Yeonjun spoke up, concern etched in his voice, "Soobin, if you didn't meet her grandmother directly, how did you figure out she was using Jae's body?"

"It was his reddish eyes," Soobin explained. "He kept hiding them behind glasses, but I caught a glimpse when he took them off briefly on the bus."

"What's our next move? How can we support you?" Beomgyu inquired.

"I'll talk to Mira. Let her know what's going on," Chaewon offered.

"No, that's not a good idea. She might think you're crazy. We need to approach this carefully," Beomgyu cautioned.

"What about her restaurant? Your people work there, right?" Yeonjun interjected.

"She's forgotten I have taken the responsibility to employ my men there after her uncle passed away. She thinks that her uncle employ people there before he passed away," Soobin replied.

"Soobin, I trust you. You can handle this. Go! Don't waste any time. You have class today. Afterward, take action. You know what to do," Beomgyu encouraged.

Soobin nodded in agreement.

"I only have a couple of hours in Seoul. I need to head back for my afternoon class. I'll call you later for updates, alright?" Beomgyu said.

Soobin nodded.

Yeonjun, Beomgyu, and Chaewon exchanged glances, noting Soobin's return to his former moodiness.

Soobin picked up his bag, slung it over his shoulder, popped on a cap, popped in his earpods, and asked Hwan to wait outside their house for two minutes. Hwan gave him a ride to the university, and everyone noticed his new style. Instead of his usual casual shirt, he was rocking a handsome white cotton tee that accentuated his muscles. He spotted Taehyun, took out his earpods, and said, "Hey Taehyun, can I talk to  you for a minute?"

Taehyun replied, "Of course, Sunbaenim."

Soobin then said, "If you're free, swing by the chemistry club room at noon with your buddies. Professor Cha wants us, Kai, and... Mira to team up for a project."

Taehyun nodded, "We're free at noon, Sunbaenim. I'll inform them."

Soobin smiled, "Thanks."

Sunghoon stood outside the cafe, anxiously waiting for Yunjin. After pouring his heart out to her, she understood why it was so hard for him to move on. So, she agreed to be his friend. When he spotted her approaching, a smile lit up his face.

"Don't force a smile. You don't need to hide your pain," Yunjin said softly. "I know it's tough for you, especially since Mira doesn't remember you or the others."

"It's not just that. She's only forgotten those from our past lives, like Soobin Hyung," Sunghoon explained.

"Does that mean she's forgotten me too, since I knew Soobin?" Yunjin asked.

"Yes. But it's more complicated. Since she's Soobin Hyung's junior at university, her friends still know him. They only forgot about him and Mira once they got together in this life. But she completely forgot the surroundings of Soobin hyung and who knows about our past life. She's forgotten Soobin hyung has taken the responsibility to employ my men there after her uncle passed away. She thinks that her uncle employ people there before he passed away" Sunghoon clarified.

"What should Soobin do now?" Yunjin inquired.

"I know him. He can make Mira fall in love again. But he's really upset," Sunghoon admitted.
