Here comes the story begins:
"Why don't you understand that going back to the UK won't be good for you? You have no one there...." Her heart felt a pang as she heard those words. Jong Shin let out a sigh.
"Listen, I apologize. I didn't mean it that way. I'm..." She cut him off.
"I know, Samchon(Uncle in Korean)."
"Mira, try to adjust. It's only a couple of days of school. I'll speak with your teacher soon."
"No, I'll handle it myself."
"Promise me then."
She nodded silently without looking at her uncle.
After leaving the kitchen, she proceeded to serve the food to the customers. She just wanted to assist her uncle as much as possible, she put in a lot of effort. Her uncle was a beloved figure in the local area who was well-liked by everyone.
While she was absent minded, another customer came to place an order. He said,
"May I have a kopi luwak please!" He was sure that she hadn't heard him, so he knocked on the table to get her attention. She returned to reality and asked,
"I'm sorry, what... what did you say?"
"One kopi luwak," he replied.
"OK, sir, please take a seat." Mira went to talk to her Samchon about the new order of kopi luwak. Her uncle let out a sigh. Mira thought he was exhausted. "Uncle, are you feeling tired?" she inquired.
"No! I just realized that he's come again," he replied.
"Who?"
"The young man who just ordered kopi luwak."
"Do you know him?"
"I've never had a chance to talk with him. Just his uniqueness... caught my attention..I never see his eyes though..."
Mira listened attentively to her uncle's remarks without any interest. She was relieved when her uncle gave her the coffee to deliver to the young man who ordered it. She put the coffee on the table in front of the young man.
"Tell me if you need anything, sir."
He nodded. Mira left. Mira was having a hard time mentally and physically. She was so exhausted to tell anyone that she was exhausted. She couldn't take anything anymore. She just wanted to go back to her country and lived alone. But she knew that her uncle started trusting her a lot in the first few days. It would hurt him a lot if she left him. She let herself get bullied by a bunch of girls from her new school. She didn't open her heart to tell anything what happened to her in a couple of days at her high school to her uncle. She wasn't like that before. But then she was getting used to it.
