Rehan- The Nostalgic
"Rehan?"
I jumped, startled. I looked around to see that I was standing in the middle of the shop. The flowers were withered and rotting in old, dust-covered flower pots. The paint was old and peeling away, and the floor was stained with red. I looked in front of me to see my sister and Kieran.
"W-what happened? Why were you in here?" Samaira asked, scared.
"I... I...." I couldn't seem to answer. I stepped out of the flower shop, grateful for the fresh, icy air that hit me. "I was looking around the street, and I went to our apartment but I didn't really find anything there, and then I walked outside where I came across the shop, and I went in and I... and I...." I decided not to tell them about the flashback. "I thought it would help bring back some memories.""And did it?" Kieran asked, curiously. "Did you see something?"
"No." I lied.
"Rehan," Samaira said. "Are you sure? When Kieran and I came it looked like... well... you were in some kind of trance."
"I was just... lost in thought." I said. "I was trying to find any clues that would help me figure out what happened that day."
"Rehan, it's okay, you can tell us." Kieran tried.
"Rehan, if you saw something... something important, you have to tell us." Samaira tried to persuade me. "I'm sure what you saw was confusing, and probably terrifying, but it's okay. It'll all be okay. You just have to talk to us."
My eyes stung with tears. No matter how badly I wanted to tell them about everything, I couldn't. I didn't want them to think of me differently. I didn't want them to share the same thoughts that everyone had about me. I hugged my sister.
"Nothing happened." I reassured her. "Everything is okay, now."
