5 years later

Tiredly, I yawned as I continued to stock the shelves, a task I had done countless times before. My hands grasped the groceries, and my eyes fell upon the expiration dates. My current task was to sort out the expired items.

The bell above the store entrance chimed, and immediately, I turned my head to see the customers entering. I quickly made my way behind the cash register, a small smile on my lips as I bowed slightly.

The older man placed several items on the counter, and I proceeded to scan each one individually. "That will be 35,000 KRW, please," I said with a smile. The man paid, and I packed his purchases into a bag.

Bowing once again with a smile, I said, "Have a lovely night," as the customer left the store.

Yes... at the age of 29, I now had a job at the 7/11. It wasn't anything extraordinary, but it brought in money. My time as a manager had meant a lot to me and had filled my pockets.

"Not shy, not Me," I suddenly heard from the small television next to me, and immediately, my head snapped in that direction. My eyes widened slightly, but I quickly shook my head as I realized it was just an American celebrity saying those words.

I swallowed and slapped my cheeks with both hands, trying to clear my mind. Yeji... she never left my thoughts. No matter the time of day, I often found myself thinking about her. My heart burned at the mere thought of her. I longed for her with every fiber of my being.

I let out a sigh as I made my way back to the refrigerators, checking the drinks once again. Some customers were seated outside, enjoying their cup noodles that they had purchased earlier.

Most of them were already quite intoxicated, even though it was only 8:00 p.m.
The door opened once more, capturing my attention once again.

I returned to the cash register and observed the much larger person placing a few cup noodles and bottles of soju into their basket. They then approached the counter and placed the basket in front of me.

I looked at the masked person, their black cap pulled low over their face, making it impossible to recognize them. The person seemed to avoid making eye contact, instead looking to the side.

"May I see your ID, please?" I asked after scanning all the cup noodles and other food items and now holding the bottle of soju in my hand. The larger person looked at me, hesitating for a moment.

I looked at the larger person as they shook their head. I blinked several times. "If you don't show me your ID, I'm sorry, but I can't sell you the bottles of soju," I warned, but the masked person simply nodded.

I let out a sigh and set the bottles of soju aside. "That will be 21,500 KRW," I said with a smile. The person rummaged through their pocket and pulled out a few bills.

I thanked them as I handed back the change. I smiled slightly. "Would you like it warmed up?" I asked, gesturing towards one of the cup noodles. "Or would you like a bag for it?" I added.

The larger person simply shook their head, attempting to carry everything by hand. My eyes widened as most of it fell to the floor.

I quickly grabbed a bag and picked up the items. I neatly and calmly placed everything in the bag. I stood up and handed the bag to the person.

They only bowed slightly and quickly left the store. I watched them leave, feeling slightly confused, but then shrugged and returned to my task.

It didn't take long for a familiar face to enter the store. With quick steps, they made their way to the cup noodles section and grabbed two of them. Yuna approached me with a smile.
