Chapter 15.

Flashback

Y/N POV

The woman with sharp cat-like eyes looked at me with a puppy face. Her hands on my upper arm as she gazed up at me with a small smile. "One... Bite, Please," she said in English. My mouth opened as I looked at the older woman. I was just about to take a bite of my sandwich. I stopped and stared at her with wide eyes.

God... How am I supposed to survive her aegyo? She even spoke English with me... She knew exactly how to get to me.

But I decided to tease her a bit. I placed the sandwich back on my plate and grinned. "No. You have your own," I replied, and Yeji started to pout. She scooted closer to me, her chin now resting on my upper arm as she looked up at me. "Pleaseeee... just one bite, Jagiya," she said, her voice slightly higher.

I swallowed as she escalated the situation. She really wanted a bite. I bit the inside of my cheek to keep from smiling. "No, eat your own sandwich," I replied. But I also made no move to start eating. I had already decided to give her this bite anyway.

Yeji knew that too, but she also knew I was waiting for something specific. And there it was. Yeji sat up straight, her hands on both sides of her cheeks, and smiled, showing all her teeth. Even her eyes were smiling. "Peleaseeee," she said, her voice now lower, as if she were sulking.

My hand landed on my chest, right above my rapidly beating heart. I leaned back and pretended to faint. I closed my eyes as I let out a sharp exhale. "Fine. Take it. God, Yeji," I said, pushing the whole plate toward her. Yeji let out her well-known sweet squeal. "Ehiyk," she said triumphantly and immediately took a bite of my sandwich.

Smiling, I watched the older woman. My hand on my chin as I admired her with a smile on my face. She grinned widely with her cheeks stuffed. However, she stopped chewing when she looked at me with big eyes. "Why... are you looking at me like that?" she asked, her cheeks still full from all the food. In her hand, she still held my sandwich.

But I just kept smiling. "How am I looking at you?" I asked because I didn't even realize I was staring at her so lovingly. Yeji swallowed the food. Her eyes narrowed then. "Don't look at anyone else like that. Only me, okay?" she demanded, her face very close to mine.

I smiled as I nodded my head. I wasn't exactly sure what look she meant, but it didn't matter. I would only see her from now on. She was everything to me. I could never... really never love anyone as much as I loved Yeji. Never!

"Do you want a bite?" Yeji asked with a smile as she held the sandwich, which actually belonged to me, in front of my face. I chuckled and took a bite. "Hmm, delicious," I said as I could taste the flavor on my tongue. Yeji simply nodded in agreement and continued eating my sandwich.

I didn't even complain. Even though she was the one who said she wasn't hungry. She could eat anything. Except my dessert! She should definitely leave that alone!

 "Are they nice?" Alex asked nervously, playing with his fingers. His big brown eyes looked at me. I smiled and nodded, "Yes, my baby. they are the kindest," I replied, and Alex nodded in satisfaction. But we both had been standing in front of this door for 5 minutes already. Neither of us made a move.

"I think... we should go in," I said, and Alex nodded. His hand on my leg, clinging to my pants. "Do you think... Mommy will like me?" he asked, and my eyes widened almost instantly. I turned to my son and knelt down in front of him.

My hands on his head as I ran my fingers through his hair. "She'd be pretty dumb not to," I replied with a smile, and Alex giggled at that. He looked at me with wide eyes, his slightly thin lips slightly parted. "Do you love her? Will she live with us? What if I don't like her?" he asked, which made me laugh a bit.
