"Come on, JK, wake up! We'll be late for school". Taehyung nudged his friend's side who was laid out on his bed.

Jungkook finally opened his eyes and sheepishly said "so, hyung, you're taking me to school today right?", while flashing his bunny smile.

"Of course! Now hurry home and get changed!" Taehyung watched JK go down the fire escape. They like using it, not because they're not allowed to use the front door of each other's houses...it was just more fun this way. Tae & JK have been neighbors and best friends for the longest time. Both had rooms on the second floor of their houses and thought it would be cool to attach one of those removable fire escape ladders. It felt like an adventure. They had many memories of pretending to be James Bond or Sherlock Holmes and would take turns playing the bad guy trying to escape using that ladder.

They arrived in school, in style as always, in Tae's fancy car. JK's family had been hit with hardship in the recent years when they got scammed by an investor. They pretty much lost everything, except for their house, of which a portion is now being rented to make ends meet.

Yes, it bothered JK that he's not rich anymore, but this did not change his status in school. He's still the popular, talented and obviously gorgeous JK that everyone swooned over.

Taehyung, on the other hand, remains low key, sorta geeky and content to give JK a ride to school every day. Or help with his homework. Or take him to band practice. Or provide snacks. Or encourage him in everything he does and shower him with praises.

College life for them was pretty steady. Tae could have gone to a better university but decided to enroll in the same school as JK. He wasn't worried about his future that much since his family owns several properties and his grades are excellent. Life was pretty good for him but he worries about his best friend.
Like a lot.

Today was band practice so JK headed there after classes. They have been preparing for a band fest and he was hoping to finish his song so they can use it as their entry. Except he hasn't had any progress with his song. He started and restarted but just can't get the right flow.
