Once the match had started, Arle realised her deja vu had not stopped yet. This masked ball was sure playing a lot like Rulue the first time she played Puyo Puyo. Good thing Arle knew exactly how to play around Rulue back then. Arle also noted how much these guys loved to just send 1 or 2 chains, which did almost nothing but annoy her and mess up the 5 chain she kept trying to set up.

Eventually, though, Arle was able to get a 5 chain off, burying Meta Knight under stacks of Garbage Puyo.

"THE WINNER - ARLE NADJA!" the announcer exclaimed.

Arle walked up to Meta Knight. "Thank you for the match."

Meta knight got out of the rubble, and shook her hand. "It was my pleasure playing against one as skilled as you. You would make a fine swordswoman."

"But swords aren't my thing..." Arle said.

"It was merely a suggestion," Meta Knight responded. Both of them then turned their attention to the scoreboard as it showed the winners of the round. Of course, Arle had beaten Meta Knight, but also, King Dedede had bested Mr Shine & Mr Bright, Kracko had defeated Bugzzy, and Kirby had won against Heavy Mole. This meant that Arle would be matched up against King Dedede next round, and this Dedede guy sure looked like a yellow penguin.

"Good luck in your battles," Meta Knight said. "Dedede is a strong opponent. Be prepared."

"Thanks, I will," Arle said.

The semifinals of the tournament were about to commence. Arle was slightly nervous, since this was the guy who knocked out Ecolo. Even worse, from what she'd heard, he was the king of this land. Was it even legal to defeat him?

Getting into the ring, Arle noticed Dedede was even larger than she imagined. He was more comparable to Zoh Daimaoh's height. In a physical fight, he might even give Raffina trouble. And despite him looking like a cute penguin, his eyes sure didn't look nice.

"I sure haven't seen you around," Dedede said to her.

"Oh, I'm new here. I traveled here to participate," Arle answered. She technically wasn't lying.

"Sounds like your dream carried you far," Dedede said. "Too bad I'm endin' it here! I'm takin' that Dream Fountain Cup!"

"... good luck to you too?" Arle awkwardly said. Sounds like he was even more arrogant than Satan or Schezo could be.

"Semifinal round, Arle Nadja vs King Dedede," the announcer said, about to start the match. "Ready... BEGIN!"

The Puyos fell, and they fell fast. As fast as they did when Arle fought Satan in their early Puyo days. Sure enough, Dedede was playing like Satan. Was this world some kind of mirror world, where everyone was replaced with a cute creature or circle? Who was her replacement?

Arle didn't have time to think about that though, as Arle was struggling to get her Puyos into a 5-chain, not helped by Dedede constantly bullying her with 1-chains. Arle was forced to pelt Dedede with 2 and 3 chains instead, but while the Fire and Ice Storm wasn't enough to stop him in one shot, he was overwhelmed with Garbage before she was, and she eventually came out victorious.

"THE WINNER - ARLE NADJA!" the announcer exclaimed again.

"You were a strong competitor," Arle said. "That was a fun match!"

"You better not lose the final round," Dedede told her, before leaving, clearly a lot more distressed about losing than Meta Knight. The screen then updated, showing Arle had triumphed over Dedede, but Kirby had won against Kracko. With all the talk she'd heard about Kirby from some of the people around, Arle knew he would be tough.
